How to Add Ad Astra Stories to Calibre
To add an Ad Astra story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file using calibre’s Add books button. You can then organize it, read it offline, convert it, or transfer it to an e-reader.
What you need
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. You will need the link to the Ad Astra story, which looks like this:

Download the Ad Astra story as an EPUB
Open the Ad Astra story downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader recognizes the adastrafanfic.com link and downloads the whole story.
EPUB is free for everyone and works well with calibre. You can choose to include the story’s images. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in, while EPUB can be converted to other formats in calibre.
You do not need an Ad Astra account for public stories. If you sign in with your account on the site, WP Downloader can access members-only stories that the account can already read. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested and cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Add the EPUB to your calibre library
Once the EPUB has downloaded, open calibre and select Add books. Choose the downloaded file, and calibre will import it into your library.
You can open the story in calibre’s e-book viewer, which includes a Read aloud feature. If you download several Ad Astra stories, adding each EPUB to calibre keeps them together in one library.
Manage the story in calibre
Select the story in your library to edit its metadata or cover. This can make a fanfiction collection easier to browse and keep its details consistent.
Calibre can also convert the EPUB to another e-book format, including:
- EPUB to AZW3
- EPUB to MOBI
- EPUB to PDF
WP Downloader does not create AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files. If you need AZW3 or MOBI, download the EPUB and convert it with calibre.
You can keep the original EPUB in your library as a source for later conversions.
Update a story when new chapters appear
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. When an Ad Astra story is updated, use its link to download the whole story again.
Add the new EPUB to calibre as the current copy. Check your library afterward and decide which copy you want to keep.
Read the story on a device
To read on your computer, open the story in calibre’s e-book viewer.
To transfer it to an e-reader, connect the device to your computer over USB and send the book from calibre. If the device requires a different format, convert the EPUB first.
