How to add FictionHunt stories to calibre
To add a FictionHunt story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file with Add books. You can then edit its details, convert it to another format, read it aloud, or transfer it to a connected e-reader.
What you need
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install. calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
You will need:
- The FictionHunt story URL
- An account on fictionhunt.com
- calibre installed on your computer
- A USB cable if you want to transfer the book to an e-reader

Step 1: Download the FictionHunt story
Open the FictionHunt downloader and paste the story URL into the box. WP Downloader detects the site from the link and prepares the story.
You must sign in with your FictionHunt account. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only material that your account can already read and does not bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.
Choose a format:
- EPUB is free for everyone and can be added directly to calibre.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
You can also choose whether to include the story’s images. When the download is ready, save the file somewhere you can easily find it.

Step 2: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select Add books. Find the EPUB you downloaded and add it to your library.
The story will appear with your other e-books. From there, you can view its details, open it in calibre’s e-book viewer, or prepare it for another device.
EPUB works well as the main library copy because calibre can read it directly and convert it later if needed.
Step 3: Edit the book details
calibre lets you edit a book’s metadata and cover. You can use these tools to make FictionHunt stories easier to recognize and browse, especially when your library contains downloads from several fiction archives.

Step 5: Convert the story if needed
WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. If you need a different e-book format, calibre can convert the downloaded EPUB.
For example, calibre can convert EPUB to:
- AZW3
- MOBI
You can keep the original EPUB in your library as a source file for later conversions.
Step 6: Transfer it to an e-reader
Connect your e-reader to your computer with a USB cable. calibre can send books from its library to a connected device.

Getting newly added chapters
WP Downloader cannot update an existing EPUB with new chapters. Download the whole FictionHunt story again and add the new file to calibre.
Check the copy already in your library before importing the new one. If you keep both files, you can edit their metadata to tell them apart.
