Add Potions and Snitches Stories to Calibre
To add a Potions and Snitches story to calibre, download the complete story as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file with calibre’s Add books button. You can then organize, read, convert, or transfer it like any other e-book. EPUB downloads are free, and WP Downloader runs in your browser with nothing to install.
Download the story as an EPUB
Open the Potions and Snitches downloader, then copy the address of a story from potionsandsnitches.org or potionsandsnitches.net. The address should look like this:
https://potionsandsnitches.org/fanfiction/viewstory.php?sid=1234Paste the address into WP Downloader, which will detect the site. Choose EPUB and select whether to include the story’s images. You do not need a Potions and Snitches account.

You can add the EPUB directly to calibre. WP Downloader can also make a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Add the EPUB to your calibre library
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Once calibre and the EPUB are on your computer:
- Open calibre.
- Select Add books.
- Find the EPUB you downloaded with WP Downloader.
- Select the file and add it to your library.
The story will appear with the other books in your calibre library. You can select it and open it in calibre’s e-book viewer to read on your computer.
The viewer also includes a Read aloud feature, so you can listen to the story while keeping the EPUB and its library information together in calibre.
Organize the story in calibre
After importing the EPUB, you can edit its metadata and cover to make the story easier to recognize and find.
Check the book’s displayed information and adjust it to match the way you organize your library. You can also edit or replace its cover. These changes affect the copy in calibre, not the story page on Potions and Snitches.
If you download several stories, use a consistent format for their names and other metadata. This makes them easier to tell apart in calibre and on your reading device.
Convert the EPUB when you need another format
WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files, but calibre can convert an imported EPUB to another e-book format. Select the story in your calibre library, open the conversion option, and choose the format you need.
calibre can convert between formats such as EPUB, AZW3, MOBI, and PDF. You can keep the original EPUB in your library alongside a converted copy made for a particular device or app.
You do not need to convert the story if your reader accepts EPUB files.
Transfer the story to an e-reader
Connect your e-reader to the computer over USB. Select the story in calibre and use the option to send the book to the connected device.
Send the original file if your reader supports EPUB. If it needs another format, convert the story in calibre first and transfer the converted copy.

Manage updated stories
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. When a Potions and Snitches story gets new chapters, download the complete story again.
Add the new file to calibre, check its metadata, and decide whether to keep the older copy. Each download contains the complete story, so review the files before sending the newer version to your reader.

Can I download only one chapter?
No. For Potions and Snitches, WP Downloader downloads complete stories, not individual chapters or lists.
Will calibre automatically update the story?
No. WP Downloader does not update an existing EPUB. Download the complete story again when you want the newer chapters, then manage the new file in calibre.
