How to Save a Personal Copy of a FictionHunt Story

Authors and websites can edit, unpublish or delete stories. You can keep a personal copy of a FictionHunt story by downloading it as an EPUB with WP Downloader. The file contains the story as it appeared when you downloaded it.

Download a FictionHunt story with WP Downloader

WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. For FictionHunt, it downloads the complete story rather than a single chapter or list.

Copy the story’s URL before you begin. A FictionHunt URL looks like this:

https://fictionhunt.com/stories/1a1a1a/story-title

Then:

1. Open the FictionHunt downloader.
2. Paste the story URL into the box.
3. Sign in with your FictionHunt account when prompted. FictionHunt downloads require an account on that site.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the story as an EPUB.

EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PDF is also available after you sign in to WP Downloader with a free Discord account.

WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only what your account can already read and cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters or age restrictions.

Keep your personal copy

Store the original EPUB somewhere you can find it again. Including the story title in the filename can help you keep a larger collection organized.

You may also want to keep another copy on a device or storage service you already use. For example, you could keep one copy on your computer and another on the device where you read.

The EPUB is separate from the live FictionHunt page. If the author edits or removes the story later, the file will still contain the version you downloaded.

Read the story on a phone or tablet

Open the EPUB in an app that supports EPUB files. Depending on the app, you can either open the downloaded file directly or add it to the app’s library.

Keep the original EPUB after importing it so that you still have a copy if you change apps or devices.

If you downloaded a PDF instead, open it in a PDF reader.

Organize the story with calibre

Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. You can use it to add EPUB files to your library and manage their metadata and covers.

To add the story:

1. Open calibre.
2. Select “Add books.”
3. Choose the EPUB downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Check the title, author, cover and other metadata.
5. Edit the metadata or cover if needed.

Calibre’s e-book viewer can open the story and includes a Read aloud feature.

You can also use calibre to convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI or PDF. WP Downloader itself does not create AZW3, MOBI or TXT files. Calibre can send books to an e-reader connected by USB as well.

Move the story to an e-reader

Download the story again after an update

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. To get later chapters or edits, return to the FictionHunt downloader, paste the same story link and download the complete story again.

You can keep both files if you want the earlier version. Otherwise, check that the new file contains the expected chapters before replacing the old one.

Keep downloaded stories for your own reading. Do not re-upload or share them.

Can I save a single FictionHunt chapter?

No. WP Downloader downloads complete FictionHunt stories, not individual chapters or lists.

Do I need a FictionHunt account?

Yes. You must sign in with an account on FictionHunt to download a story from that site.

Will my EPUB update when new chapters appear?

No. The EPUB is a snapshot from the time you downloaded it. Download the story again to get later chapters or edits.

Can WP Downloader create a MOBI or AZW3 file?

No. WP Downloader creates EPUB and PDF files. You can use calibre to convert an EPUB to MOBI, AZW3 or PDF.
