How to save a personal backup of a Quotev story
Authors can edit, unpublish, or delete their Quotev stories. Saving a personal copy with WP Downloader gives you an offline snapshot of the whole story as an EPUB or PDF.
Download the Quotev story with WP Downloader
WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. You do not need to sign in to Quotev.
Open the story on quotev.com and copy its URL. A Quotev story link looks like this:

- Open the Quotev downloader.
- Paste the story link into the box.
- Choose EPUB or PDF.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the file to your device.
EPUB is free for everyone. Creating a PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. For Quotev, WP Downloader saves the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list.
The file contains the version available when you downloaded it. Later changes to the online story will not appear in that copy.

Choose EPUB or PDF
EPUB works well for a personal story library. You can add the file to calibre to organize it, read it, edit its metadata and cover, or transfer it to an e-reader.
You can also save the story as a PDF, although WP Downloader requires a free Discord sign-in for this format.
WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. To get AZW3, MOBI, or PDF from an EPUB, download the EPUB first and convert it with calibre.
Store the downloaded file
After the download finishes, find the EPUB or PDF on your phone or computer. Keep the original file as your backup instead of relying only on a copy imported into a reading app.
A separate folder for Quotev stories makes saved files easier to find. If you download the story again later, organize the files so you can identify the newer snapshot.
Keep downloaded stories for your own reading. Do not re-upload or share them.
Add the EPUB to calibre
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can use it to keep your downloaded EPUB files in one library.
To add a Quotev story:
- Open calibre.
- Select “Add books.”
- Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Check its title, author information, and cover.
- Edit the metadata or cover if needed.
You can read the story in calibre’s e-book viewer, which also has a “Read aloud” feature.
calibre can convert the EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. It can also send books to an e-reader connected by USB.
Move the story to your reading device
Open or import the EPUB in the reading app you use on your phone, tablet, or computer.

If you keep your library in calibre, connect your e-reader by USB and send the book from calibre.
Download a new copy when the story changes
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. If the author adds chapters or revises the story, paste the Quotev link into WP Downloader again and save a new copy.
The first file remains a snapshot of the earlier version. The new file contains the version available when you download it again.

Can I back up a Quotev story without signing in?
Yes. You do not need to sign in to Quotev to download a story with WP Downloader.
Can I download just one Quotev chapter?
No. WP Downloader downloads whole Quotev stories, not individual chapters or lists.
Will my EPUB update when the author adds a chapter?
No. The EPUB is a snapshot from the time you downloaded it. Download the story again to get later chapters or edits.
