Do Bloodshedverse Stories Count Toward Apple Books Reading Goals?

WP Downloader can save a complete Bloodshedverse story as an EPUB or PDF for offline reading in Apple Books. Apple does not document whether imported EPUBs count toward Reading Goals, so you will need to test the EPUB on your device. PDFs can count if Include PDFs is turned on.

Download a Bloodshedverse story

WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. Open the Bloodshedverse downloader and keep the story page handy in another tab.

A Bloodshedverse story link looks like this:

https://bloodshedverse.com/stories.php?go=read&no=1234

To download it:

1. Copy the full story URL from bloodshedverse.com.
2. Paste it into the box on WP Downloader.
3. Choose EPUB or PDF.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the file.

EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. You do not need a Bloodshedverse account.

WP Downloader saves the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories from Bloodshedverse. If the author adds chapters later, download the story again. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you already downloaded.

See the Bloodshedverse download guide for more help with downloading.

Add the story to Apple Books

Apple Books opens EPUB and PDF files on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Once imported, the story appears in your Library.

On iPhone or iPad

After downloading the file:

1. Find it in the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
2. Open the file or its sharing options.
3. Tap Share.
4. Choose Books.

Apple Books will open and add the story to your Library. You can then read it offline like your other books.

On Mac

Open the Books app and drag the downloaded EPUB into it. You can also choose File, then Add to Library, and select the EPUB.

The imported story will appear in your Apple Books Library.

How Apple Books Reading Goals work

Reading Goals track:

• How many minutes you read each day. The default daily goal is five minutes.
• How many books and audiobooks you finish each year.

On iPhone or iPad, you can change the daily goal from the Reading Now tab. On Mac, change it from Home.

Adding a story to your Library does not tell you whether Apple Books will record the time you spend reading it. You need to open the imported file and check your progress.

Do imported Bloodshedverse EPUBs count?

Apple does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time. To check how Apple Books handles the file on your device:

1. Note today’s reading time before opening the story.
2. Open the imported Bloodshedverse EPUB.
3. Read for a minute or two.
4. Return to Reading Goals.
5. Check whether today’s reading time increased.

You can also check your yearly finished books total after completing the story. Daily reading time and yearly completions are separate goals, so check each one individually.

Make sure PDFs are included

PDFs count toward the reading goal only when Include PDFs is turned on.

On current iOS versions, open Settings, Apps, Books, then turn on Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings, Books, and find the same option.

After turning it on, read the imported Bloodshedverse PDF for a minute or two and check whether the day’s reading time increases. If you tested the PDF while the setting was off, try again after enabling it.

You can also send Bloodshedverse stories to Kindle or read Bloodshedverse stories on Kobo.
