Do MassEffect2.in Stories Count Toward Apple Books Reading Goals?
Whether a MassEffect2.in story counts toward your Apple Books Reading Goals depends partly on its file format. PDFs can count if you enable Include PDFs. Apple does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time, so you will need to check on your device.
Download a MassEffect2.in story with WP Downloader
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install. It downloads complete stories from MassEffect2.in, a Russian-language fiction archive.
Copy the story URL. It should look like this:
https://www.masseffect2.in/publ/19-1-0-1234 Open the MassEffect2.in downloader, paste the link into the box, and let WP Downloader detect the site. MassEffect2.in downloads do not require an account.
Choose a format:
- EPUB is free for everyone and works with Apple Books.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
- To include the story’s images, select that option before downloading.
WP Downloader downloads whole MassEffect2.in stories, not individual chapters or lists. It also cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the author publishes more chapters, paste the story link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy.
Support for MassEffect2.in and the other fiction archives was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.

How Apple Books Reading Goals work
Reading Goals track how many minutes you read each day and how many books and audiobooks you finish each year.
The default daily goal is five minutes. To change it on an iPhone or iPad, open the Reading Now tab. On a Mac, open Home.
PDFs count toward the reading goal only when Include PDFs is turned on. Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files imported from outside Apple Books count toward daily reading time, so you should test an imported MassEffect2.in EPUB on your device.
Check whether your imported story counts
Note the reading time shown for today before opening the story. Then:
- Open the imported MassEffect2.in EPUB in Apple Books.
- Read for a minute or two.
- Return to Reading Now on your iPhone or iPad, or Home on your Mac.
- See whether today’s reading time has increased.
If the total increases, Apple Books is counting the imported EPUB on your device. If it stays the same, the EPUB may not be contributing to your daily goal.
For a PDF, enable PDF tracking first. On current iOS versions, open Settings, Apps, then Books and turn on Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings, then Books. Read the PDF briefly and check the day’s total again.
