Do NCISFiction Stories Count Toward Apple Books Reading Goals?

You can read downloaded NCISFiction stories in Apple Books. PDFs count toward Reading Goals when Include PDFs is enabled. Apple does not say whether EPUBs you import yourself count, so you will need to test the EPUB in the Books app.

Download the NCISFiction story with WP Downloader

Open the NCISFiction downloader. WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything.

Copy the full address of the story you want to save. An NCISFiction story link usually looks like this:

https://ncisfiction.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234

Paste the link into WP Downloader. It will detect the site and offer these options:

• EPUB is free for everyone.
• PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. To have PDFs count toward Reading Goals, you must also enable Include PDFs in Apple’s settings.
• You can include the story’s images in the downloaded file.

WP Downloader saves the whole NCISFiction story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list. If new chapters are published later, download the story again. WP Downloader cannot add them to an EPUB you already have.

Public stories do not require an NCISFiction account. You can sign in with an account from that site to reach members-only stories your account can read. WP Downloader does not bypass access restrictions.

Add the story to Apple Books

Apple Books opens EPUB and PDF files on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Imported stories appear in your Library.

On iPhone or iPad

After the file downloads:

1. Open the EPUB or PDF from the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
2. Tap Share.
3. Choose Books.
4. Open Books and find the story in your Library.

If Books does not appear at first, look through the other available apps.

On Mac

Open the Books app and drag the EPUB into it. You can also choose File, then Add to Library, and select the downloaded file.

The imported story will appear in your Books Library.

How Apple Books Reading Goals work

Apple Books tracks how many minutes you read each day and how many books and audiobooks you finish each year.

The daily goal is five minutes by default. To change it, use the Reading Now tab on an iPhone or iPad. On a Mac, use Home.

Check whether an imported NCISFiction EPUB counts

Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUBs you import yourself count toward daily reading time. Check the Books app on your device:

1. Open Apple Books and note today’s reading time.
2. Open the imported NCISFiction EPUB.
3. Read for a minute or two.
4. Return to your Reading Goals.
5. Check whether today’s reading time increased.

If the total increases, Apple Books is counting the imported EPUB toward your daily goal. If it does not, the app is not recording that file in your current setup.

Make a downloaded PDF count

PDFs count toward the reading goal only when Include PDFs is turned on.

On current iOS versions, open Settings, choose Apps, then Books, and enable Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings and choose Books.

Once the setting is enabled, open the imported PDF in Apple Books and read for a minute or two. Check the day’s reading total afterward.

EPUB and PDF both work in Apple Books. If tracking your reading time matters, test the EPUB first or enable Include PDFs before reading the PDF.
