Do Questionable Questing Stories Count Toward Apple Books Goals?

Apple Books tracks your daily reading time and the books you finish. PDFs count when the Include PDFs setting is enabled. Apple does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count, so you will need to test the downloaded story in Apple Books.

Download a Questionable Questing story

Open the Questionable Questing downloader. WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install.

Copy the link to the Questionable Questing story you want to read. A story link usually looks like this:

https://forum.questionablequesting.com/threads/some-story-name.123456/

Paste the link into WP Downloader. It recognizes the site and collects the threadmarked chapters from the forum thread into one book.

Choose a format:

• EPUB is free for everyone and opens in Apple Books.
• PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. Its reading time can count when Include PDFs is turned on.
• Turn on the image option if you want to include the story’s images.

For Questionable Questing, WP Downloader handles whole stories. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories. If the thread gets new chapters, download the story again. WPD cannot update an existing EPUB.

You do not need to sign in to Questionable Questing for public stories. Signing in lets WP Downloader fetch members-only stories that your account can already read. It cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters, age restrictions, or other access limits.

Add the story to Apple Books

Apple Books opens EPUB and PDF files on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

On an iPhone or iPad

After WP Downloader creates the book:

1. Open the downloaded file from the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
2. Tap Share.
3. Choose Books.

The story will appear in your Apple Books Library. Open it there to start reading.

On a Mac

Open the Books app and drag the downloaded EPUB into it. You can also choose File, then Add to Library, and select the EPUB.

The imported story will appear in your Library.

How Apple Books Reading Goals work

Apple Books tracks:

• How many minutes you read each day
• How many books and audiobooks you finish each year

The daily goal is five minutes by default. You can change it from the Reading Now tab on an iPhone or iPad, or from Home on a Mac.

Apple Books decides whether activity in an imported file counts toward these goals. Questionable Questing and WP Downloader do not control the tracking.

Do imported Questionable Questing EPUBs count?

Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time. Check your first file before relying on it for your daily goal:

1. Note today’s reading time in Apple Books.
2. Open the imported Questionable Questing EPUB.
3. Read for a minute or two.
4. Return to your Reading Goal and check whether today’s time has increased.

If the total rises, Apple Books is counting the imported EPUB on your device. If it does not, reading that file may not contribute to your goal.

Read a little longer and check again if you want to confirm the result.

Make a Questionable Questing PDF count

PDFs count toward the reading goal only when Include PDFs is enabled.

On current iOS versions, open Settings, choose Apps, then Books, and turn on Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings, choose Books, and find the same option.

Once the setting is enabled, open the imported PDF in Apple Books and read it there. You can check the result by noting your daily reading time, reading for a minute or two, and seeing whether the total increases.

Choose between EPUB and PDF

EPUB is a simple starting point because it is free to download and opens in Apple Books. Since Apple does not document whether imported EPUBs count toward Reading Goals, test the first file before depending on it for your daily minutes.

PDF is available after a free Discord sign-in to WP Downloader. You must also enable Include PDFs before PDF reading time can count.

You can use the downloaded files on other devices too. See the guides for sending Questionable Questing stories to Kindle or reading Questionable Questing stories on Kobo.
