How to Track TG Storytime Reading in Apple Books
You can add a TG Storytime story to Apple Books by downloading it as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader. Apple Books has Reading Goals, although Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward your daily reading time. To check, import the story, read for a minute or two, and see whether today’s total goes up.
Download a TG Storytime story
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. It downloads complete stories from tgstorytime.com.
- Open the TG Storytime downloader.
- Copy the story URL from your browser. It should look similar to this:
https://tgstorytime.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234- Paste the URL into WP Downloader.
- Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the finished file to your device.
For TG Storytime, WP Downloader downloads the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories. If the author adds more chapters, download the story again to get an updated copy.
Public stories do not require a TG Storytime account. You can sign in with an account from that site to reach members-only stories the account can already read. WP Downloader cannot bypass locked content, age restrictions, or other access limits.

Add the story to Apple Books
Apple Books opens EPUB and PDF files on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. After you import the story, it appears in your Library.
On iPhone or iPad
- Open the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
- Find the EPUB or PDF you downloaded.
- Tap Share.
- Choose Books.
The story will open in Apple Books and appear in your Library. You can then read it in the Books app.
On Mac
Open the Books app and drag the EPUB into it. You can also choose File, then Add to Library, and select the downloaded file.
The story will appear in your Library with your other books.
How Reading Goals work
Apple Books Reading Goals track how many minutes you read each day and how many books and audiobooks you finish each year.
The daily goal is five minutes by default. To change it on an iPhone or iPad, open the Reading Now tab. On a Mac, open Home.
Adding a story to your Library does not add reading minutes. You need to open the file and read it in Apple Books.
Check whether an imported EPUB counts
Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time. You can test the file on your device:
- Open Apple Books and note today’s reading time.
- Open the imported TG Storytime EPUB.
- Read for a minute or two.
- Return to Reading Now on an iPhone or iPad, or Home on a Mac.
- Check whether today’s reading time has increased.
This will show whether Apple Books is counting time spent reading that imported EPUB on your device.
Count a TG Storytime PDF toward the goal
PDFs count toward Reading Goals only when Include PDFs is turned on.
On current versions of iOS, open Settings, then Apps, then Books, and turn on Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings, then Books, and find the same option.
Once the setting is on, open the imported PDF in Apple Books and read for a minute or two. Then check today’s reading time.
