How to Listen to Library of Moria Stories With Text-to-Speech
To listen to a Library of Moria story, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and open the file in a reader with text-to-speech. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything to download the story.
Download the story with WP Downloader
Copy the address of the story you want to hear. A Library of Moria story URL looks like this:
http://www.libraryofmoria.com/a/viewstory.php?sid=1234 Then:
- Open the Library of Moria downloader.
- Paste the story link into the box.
- Wait for WP Downloader to detect the site and fetch the story.
- Choose EPUB as the output format.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the finished file.
EPUB downloads are free for everyone. WP Downloader can also create a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. EPUB works with all the reading options covered below.
WP Downloader downloads the entire Library of Moria story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories from the site. If new chapters are added later, download the story again to create a new EPUB. The tool cannot update a file you already saved.
You do not need to sign in for public stories. If a story is available only to members, you can sign in with your Library of Moria account. WP Downloader will only fetch content that account can already read, and it uses your credentials only to retrieve the story you requested. It does not bypass access restrictions.
The Library of Moria download guide covers the download process in more detail.
Listen on an iPhone or iPad
Apple Books opens EPUB files and works with the built-in Speak Screen accessibility feature.
To use Speak Screen:
- Open Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Select Spoken Content.
- Turn on Speak Screen.
- Open the downloaded EPUB in Apple Books.
- Swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen to hear the story.
Speak Screen uses the text-to-speech voices installed on your device. How natural the narration sounds depends on the voice you select.
Listen on an Android phone or tablet
Android has several ways to read the downloaded story aloud.
Use Select to Speak
Turn on Select to Speak under Accessibility in Settings. Once it is enabled, tap items on the screen to hear them read aloud.
How you open the EPUB depends on your reading app. You can also use an EPUB reader with its own read-aloud mode.
Use Moon+ Reader
Moon+ Reader opens EPUB files and has a built-in text-to-speech mode. Open the downloaded story in the app, then start its read-aloud option.
Use @Voice Aloud Reader
@Voice Aloud Reader reads EPUB files aloud. Open the Library of Moria EPUB in the app and start its reading feature.
Both apps use the text-to-speech voices installed on your Android device, so narration can sound different from one device to another.
Listen on Windows, macOS, or Linux
Thorium Reader and calibre can read EPUB files aloud on a computer.
Use Thorium Reader
Thorium Reader is free and available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Open the EPUB in Thorium Reader and start its read-aloud feature.
Use calibre
calibre is another free desktop option. Add or open the EPUB, launch it in calibre’s e-book viewer, and select Read aloud.
Both programs use the text-to-speech voices installed on your device.
Keep the EPUB for other reading devices
You can keep the EPUB and switch between listening and reading. To put the story on an e-reader, follow the guide for sending Library of Moria stories to Kindle or reading Library of Moria stories on Kobo.
