How to listen to NCISFiction stories with text-to-speech
To listen to an NCISFiction story, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and open the file in a reading app or device feature that supports text-to-speech. The controls depend on the device you use.
Download the NCISFiction story as an EPUB
WP Downloader is a free web tool that works with stories from ncisfiction.com and classic.squidge.org. You do not need to install anything.
- Open the NCISFiction downloader.
- Copy the link to the story you want to hear. An NCISFiction story URL usually looks like this:

- Choose EPUB as the output format.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the EPUB to your device.
For NCISFiction, WP Downloader downloads the complete story. It does not download individual chapters or lists. You can also paste the link into the box on the WP Downloader home page, which will detect that the story is from NCISFiction.
Public stories do not require an NCISFiction account. You can sign in with an account from the site to reach members-only stories that account can already read. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Listen on an iPhone or iPad
Apple’s Speak Screen feature can read an EPUB aloud in Apple Books.
Turn on Speak Screen
- Open Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Select Spoken Content.
- Turn on Speak Screen.
Open the downloaded EPUB in Apple Books, then swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen to have the page read aloud.
If the gesture does not work, return to the Spoken Content settings and check that Speak Screen is turned on.
Listen on Android
Android users can listen with Select to Speak or an EPUB reading app.
Use Select to Speak
Open Settings, select Accessibility, and turn on Select to Speak. Once it is enabled, tap an item on the screen to hear it read aloud.
Use Moon+ Reader
Moon+ Reader opens EPUB files and has a built-in text-to-speech mode. Open the NCISFiction EPUB in the app and use the read-aloud option to start listening.
Use @Voice Aloud Reader
@Voice Aloud Reader can also read EPUB files aloud. Open the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader and start the app’s reading function.
Listen on Windows, macOS, or Linux
Thorium Reader and calibre can read EPUB files aloud on a computer.
Use Thorium Reader
Thorium Reader is free and works on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Open the downloaded EPUB and use the read-aloud feature to listen to the story.
Use calibre
calibre is a free desktop app. Add or open the NCISFiction EPUB, launch it in calibre’s e-book viewer, and select Read aloud.
Adjust the listening experience
Each option uses the text-to-speech voices installed on your device, so the narration will sound different depending on the available voices.
If one voice is hard to understand, try another installed voice. You can also follow the text on screen as it is read aloud.
Keep the EPUB on your device if you want to listen offline. When the author adds new chapters, download the story again. WP Downloader cannot update an existing EPUB.
Read the story on another device
You can also transfer the EPUB to another reading device for longer reading sessions.
