How to Put an NCISFiction Story on a Kindle with Calibre
You can put an NCISFiction story on a Kindle without Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. First, download the story as an EPUB with WP Downloader. Calibre can then convert it to AZW3 and copy it to your Kindle over USB.
You will need a computer because calibre runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. After the transfer, you can read the story offline on your Kindle.
What you need
Have the following ready:
- The NCISFiction story page in your browser
- A computer with calibre installed
- Your Kindle e-reader
- A USB cable that connects the Kindle to the computer
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything for the download. Calibre is a free e-book manager that can organize books, edit metadata and covers, convert files, and transfer books to an e-reader connected by USB.
Step 1: Copy the NCISFiction story link
Open the story on ncisfiction.com or classic.squidge.org, then copy its address from your browser.
An NCISFiction story URL looks like this:

Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Go to the NCISFiction downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will detect the site and prepare the story.
Choose EPUB for the output. EPUB is free for everyone and can be imported into calibre. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
You do not need an NCISFiction account for public stories. If you sign in with an account from the site, WP Downloader can also fetch members-only stories that the account is allowed to read. It cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.
Save the EPUB somewhere easy to find, such as your Downloads folder. If the story gains new chapters later, download it again. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already saved.

Step 3: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select “Add books.” Find the EPUB you downloaded and add it to your calibre library.
The story will appear in your book list. You can review or edit its metadata and cover before converting it. You can also open the EPUB in calibre’s e-book viewer to check the downloaded story.
Step 4: Convert the EPUB to AZW3
Select the story in calibre and choose “Convert books.” Set the output format to AZW3, then start the conversion.
AZW3 is a Kindle format that you can transfer to a Kindle over USB. WP Downloader does not create AZW3 or MOBI files, so calibre handles the conversion.
Amazon’s Send to Kindle service no longer accepts MOBI files, but Kindle e-readers can still open MOBI and AZW3 files copied over USB. This guide uses AZW3.
Step 5: Connect your Kindle over USB
Connect the Kindle to your computer with the USB cable and wait for calibre to recognize it.
Select the converted story and choose “Send to device.” Calibre will copy the book to the connected Kindle.
Once the transfer finishes, safely disconnect the Kindle. The story will be available on the device for offline reading.

- Keep the story in your calibre library
- Edit its metadata or cover before transferring it
