Put a Psychfic Story on Kindle With Calibre and USB
To put a Psychfic story on a Kindle without Amazon’s Send to Kindle service, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader. You can then convert the file to AZW3 in calibre and transfer it to your Kindle over USB.
What you need
Have these ready:
- The Psychfic story page
- A computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux
- calibre, a free e-book manager
- Your Kindle and its USB cable

Step 1: Copy the Psychfic story link
Open the story on psychfic.com and copy its address from your browser. A Psychfic story URL looks like this:

Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the Psychfic downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will detect the site and prepare the story.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and can be added to calibre for conversion. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
WP Downloader does not create AZW3 or MOBI files. calibre can convert the downloaded EPUB to a Kindle format.

Step 3: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select “Add books.” Find the EPUB from WP Downloader and add it to your calibre library.
The story will appear in your book list. You can edit its metadata and cover before transferring it, or leave them unchanged.
Step 4: Convert the EPUB to AZW3
Select the Psychfic story in calibre and choose the book conversion option. Set AZW3 as the output format and start the conversion.
AZW3 is a Kindle format that you can copy to the device over USB. calibre can also convert EPUB files to MOBI or PDF.
Amazon’s Send to Kindle service no longer accepts MOBI, but Kindles still open MOBI and AZW3 files copied over USB. This method uses calibre and a cable instead of the Send to Kindle service.
Step 5: Transfer the story over USB
Connect your Kindle to the computer with its USB cable. Once calibre recognizes it, the “Send to device” option will become available.
Select the converted story and choose “Send to device.” calibre will copy the book to your Kindle. When the transfer is complete, disconnect the Kindle and open the story from its library.
Repeat these steps for any other whole Psychfic stories you want to read offline.
When this method is useful
Using calibre and USB works well if you manage your e-books on a computer or want to convert the EPUB yourself. You can also edit the story’s metadata or cover before copying it to your Kindle.

Updating a story with new chapters
WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you already have. If the Psychfic story gets new chapters, download the whole story again.
