Put a TTH Story on Kindle With calibre and USB
You can put a Twisting the Hellmouth story on a Kindle without using Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. First download the complete story as an EPUB with WP Downloader. You can then use calibre to convert it to AZW3 and copy it to your Kindle over USB.
You will need a computer for calibre, which is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so the download step does not require any software installation.
What you need
Have the following ready:

Step 1: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the Twisting the Hellmouth downloader and paste the story URL into the box.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and gives calibre a file it can convert for Kindle. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
You do not need to sign in for public stories. If a story is available only to members, you can sign in with your Twisting the Hellmouth account. WP Downloader can then fetch stories that account is allowed to read. It cannot bypass membership restrictions, paywalls, locked content, or age restrictions. Your account credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested.

Step 2: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select “Add books.” Find the EPUB from WP Downloader and add it to your calibre library.
Before converting the book, you can edit its metadata or cover to change how it appears in calibre and on your Kindle.
Step 3: Convert the EPUB to AZW3
Select the story in calibre and choose the option to convert it. Set AZW3 as the output format and start the conversion.
AZW3 is a Kindle format that can be copied to the device over USB. calibre can also convert EPUB files to MOBI or PDF, though neither is needed for these steps.
WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files. It supplies the EPUB, and calibre converts it to the Kindle format.
Step 4: Connect your Kindle over USB
Connect the Kindle to your computer with the USB cable and wait for calibre to recognize it.
Select the converted story and use “Send to device.” calibre will copy the book to the connected Kindle.
Once the transfer has finished, disconnect the Kindle from the computer. The story will be available on the device for offline reading.
Why use USB instead of Send to Kindle?
USB is useful if you manage your books in calibre or want to convert the EPUB to AZW3 before copying it to your Kindle.
Kindles can still open MOBI and AZW3 files copied over USB. Amazon stopped accepting MOBI through its Send to Kindle service, but MOBI files transferred directly over USB still work.

Keeping the Kindle copy up to date
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. When the story changes, download the complete story again. Add the new EPUB to calibre, convert it to AZW3, and transfer that version to your Kindle.
