How to Read Ad Astra Stories on a NOOK
To read an Ad Astra story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. EPUB downloads are free, and WP Downloader runs in your browser with nothing to install.
What you need
Before you start, have these ready:
- The Ad Astra story page on adastrafanfic.com
- A computer that can access WP Downloader
- A USB cable for your NOOK
- A Barnes & Noble NOOK GlowLight
Ad Astra story URLs look like this:

Step 1: Download the story as an EPUB
Open the Ad Astra downloader and paste the story URL into the box. WP Downloader will detect the site and prepare the story.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone, and you can choose whether to include the story’s images.
You can sign in with your Ad Astra account to reach members-only stories that the account can read. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you request. It cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Step 2: Connect your NOOK
Connect your NOOK GlowLight to the computer with a USB cable.
On newer models, change the USB connection setting so the computer can access the NOOK:
- Swipe down from the top of the NOOK screen.
- Tap “USB for charging.”
- Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”
The device should appear on your computer as a drive called “NOOK.”
Step 3: Copy the EPUB to your NOOK
Barnes & Noble calls copying your own files to a NOOK “sideloading.” Find the EPUB you downloaded and drag it onto the NOOK drive.
Wait for the copy to finish, then eject the NOOK from your computer before unplugging the USB cable. You can now open the EPUB on your NOOK and read the story offline.
Downloading new chapters later
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the author updates the story, return to the Ad Astra downloader and download it again.
Copy the new EPUB to your NOOK using the same USB steps.
