How to read a Fanfics.me story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK

To read a Fanfics.me story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download the complete story as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. Barnes & Noble calls this “sideloading.”

Sign in for members-only stories

You do not need a Fanfics.me account to download public stories. For a members-only story, you can sign in with your Fanfics.me account so WP Downloader can retrieve content that account can already read.

Copy the EPUB to a NOOK GlowLight

After downloading the EPUB to your computer, connect your NOOK GlowLight with a USB cable. It should appear as a drive named “NOOK.”

1. Open the NOOK drive on your computer.
2. Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
3. Drag the EPUB onto the NOOK drive.
4. Wait for the transfer to finish.
5. Eject the NOOK from the computer.
6. Unplug the USB cable.

Eject the NOOK before unplugging it so the computer can finish the file transfer. You can then open the EPUB on your NOOK and read it offline.

Turn on file transfer on newer NOOK models

Newer NOOK models may use the USB connection only for charging at first. If the NOOK does not appear as a drive after you connect it, change its USB setting:

1. Swipe down from the top of the NOOK screen.
2. Tap “USB for charging.”
3. Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”
4. Return to your computer and open the connected NOOK.
5. Drag the Fanfics.me EPUB onto the device.
6. Eject the NOOK before unplugging it.

The MTP setting allows your computer to transfer files to the NOOK instead of only charging it.

Update an ongoing story

WP Downloader creates an EPUB from the chapters available when you submit the story link. It cannot add new chapters to a book already stored on your NOOK.

When a Fanfics.me story is updated, return to the Fanfics.me downloader, paste the story URL again, and download a new EPUB. Copy that file to your NOOK using the same USB steps.
