How to Read Ficbook Stories on a Barnes & Noble NOOK
To read a Ficbook story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. Barnes & Noble calls this “sideloading.” Once the file is on your NOOK, you can read it offline without returning to ficbook.net.

- A computer
- Your NOOK and its USB cable
A Ficbook story link usually looks like this:

Step 1: Download the Ficbook story as an EPUB
Open the Ficbook downloader in your browser. WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install.
Copy the story URL from your browser’s address bar and paste it into the downloader. WP Downloader detects that the link is from Ficbook and prepares the whole story.
Choose EPUB for the file format. EPUB is free for everyone and works with the NOOK. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
PDF is also available, but it requires a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Ficbook support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader. WP Downloader only downloads material you can already access. It does not bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.
Step 2: Connect your NOOK
Connect the NOOK to your computer with its USB cable.
What happens next depends on the model:
- On NOOK GlowLight models, the device appears on your computer as a drive named “NOOK.”
- On newer models, swipe down from the top of the NOOK’s screen, tap “USB for charging,” and choose “Transfer files (MTP).”
If the NOOK only charges and does not appear on your computer, make sure “Transfer files (MTP)” is selected on models that have this option.
Step 3: Copy the EPUB to the NOOK
Open the NOOK drive or device on your computer. Find the Ficbook EPUB you downloaded and drag it onto the NOOK.
Wait for the transfer to finish, then eject the NOOK from your computer before unplugging the USB cable.
Open the sideloaded EPUB on your NOOK to read the Ficbook story offline.
Getting new chapters later
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the author updates the story, paste its link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy of the whole story.
Transfer the new EPUB to your NOOK using the same USB steps.
