Check the file before you leave:

Make sure the download has finished.
Open the file in your reading app.
Turn on airplane mode.
Open the story again and check a few pages.

If the story still opens, it is ready to read without an internet connection.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Download the EPUB or PDF first, then send it to Kindle while you are online. Amazon needs an internet connection to receive and convert the file.

You can send an EPUB or PDF to Kindle in any of these ways:

Email it to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.
Use the Send to Kindle app.
Upload it through Send to Kindle on the web.

Files sent by email must come from an approved sender address. Amazon converts the EPUB, then adds the book to your Kindle library on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app.
