How to Read Occlumency Stories on a Barnes & Noble NOOK
To read an Occlumency story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download the whole story as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. Barnes & Noble calls this “sideloading.”
What you need
Have the following ready:
- The Occlumency story page
- A computer that can open WP Downloader
- Your NOOK and its USB cable
- An Occlumency account if the story is restricted to signed-in members
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. EPUB downloads are free for everyone. You can also download a PDF after signing in with Discord for free, but these NOOK instructions use EPUB.
Step 1: Copy the Occlumency story link
Open the story on occlumency.sycophanthex.com and copy its full URL from the address bar. An Occlumency story URL looks like this:

Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the Occlumency downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will detect that the link is from Occlumency.
Select EPUB and choose whether to include the story’s images. Start the download, then save the finished EPUB somewhere easy to find on your computer.
You do not need to sign in to download a public story. For a members-only story, sign in with your Occlumency account so WP Downloader can fetch the content that account is allowed to read. The tool does not bypass membership requirements, paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Step 3: Connect your NOOK
Connect your NOOK to the computer with its USB cable.
On a newer NOOK model, you may need to turn on file transfers:
- Swipe down from the top of the NOOK screen.
- Tap “USB for charging.”
- Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”
Your computer can then access the NOOK.
Step 4: Copy the EPUB to your NOOK
A NOOK GlowLight appears on your computer as a drive named “NOOK.” Open the drive and drag the downloaded EPUB onto it.
If you selected “Transfer files (MTP)” on a newer model, open the NOOK in your computer’s file browser and copy the EPUB to the device.
Wait for the transfer to finish, then eject the NOOK from your computer before unplugging the cable. Open the transferred EPUB on your NOOK to read the story offline.
Downloading new chapters later
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the Occlumency story is updated, open the downloader again, paste the story link, and download a new copy.
You can delete the older copy from your NOOK or keep both files. The new EPUB will contain the complete story that your account could access when you downloaded it.
