How to Read Potions and Snitches Stories During a Flight

Download your Potions and Snitches stories before you leave, while you still have internet access. Save each one as an EPUB or PDF, open it in your reading app, and check that it works in airplane mode. Once the file is on your device, you can read it without a connection.

Download the story before your flight

WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything. You also do not need a Potions and Snitches account.

2. Copy its main story URL. It should look like this:

Download every story you want while your internet connection is reliable. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have, so you will need to download the story again if it is updated.

Choose a format for your device

The right format depends on where you plan to read.

Phone or tablet

Choose EPUB if you use an EPUB reader app. It usually works well for reading book-length stories in a dedicated reading app.

Choose PDF if you prefer your device’s PDF reader. Creating the PDF through WP Downloader requires a free Discord sign-in.

Open the downloaded file in the app you plan to use during the flight. Do not leave it unopened in your browser’s download list. Opening it now confirms that the app can access the file.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Download the EPUB or PDF, then use Amazon’s Send to Kindle service while you still have internet access. You can email the file to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address, use the Send to Kindle app, or send it through the web.

Amazon converts the EPUB and adds the book to your Kindle library. It then appears on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app. Send the file before boarding, since delivery requires an internet connection, and check that the story is on the device you are taking.

Kobo

Download the EPUB before your trip and transfer it to the Kobo you plan to carry. Open the story once before leaving to make sure it is available on the device. The Potions and Snitches Kobo guide explains the device-specific steps.

Laptop

You can use either format on a laptop. Open an EPUB in an EPUB reader or a PDF in a PDF reader. Check the downloaded file before your flight instead of relying on the original Potions and Snitches page.

Test the files in airplane mode

Test each story before you leave:

1. Confirm that the EPUB or PDF has finished downloading.
2. Open it on the device or in the app you will use.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Close and reopen the story.
5. Move between a few chapters to check that the file works offline.
6. Repeat the test for every story you want to bring.

Keep each downloaded file on your device until your trip is over. An open browser tab with the online story is not an offline copy.
