How to Read a SciFiStories Story on a Kobo

Download the SciFiStories story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, then copy the file to your Kobo. Kobo e-readers open EPUB files natively.

Download the story as an EPUB

WP Downloader is a free web tool and does not require any installation. Start on the SciFiStories downloader page, or paste the story link into the box on the WP Downloader home page.

A SciFiStories story URL looks like this:

1. Open the SciFiStories story and copy its URL.
2. Go to the SciFiStories downloader.
3. Paste the story URL into the download box.
4. Sign in with an account on SciFiStories.
5. Choose EPUB as the output format.
6. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
7. Download the EPUB.

WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It downloads only content that your account can already read. It cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.

For SciFiStories, WP Downloader downloads whole stories. It does not download individual chapters or story lists. If the author publishes more chapters, download the story again to create a new EPUB with the chapters available to your account.

WP Downloader can also create a PDF, but PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. EPUB is the simpler choice for a Kobo because the device opens it natively.

Copy the EPUB to your Kobo with USB

USB works without a cloud account.

1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive.
3. Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Copy the EPUB onto the Kobo drive.
5. Eject the Kobo safely.
6. Disconnect the cable.

The story will appear in your Kobo library. Open it as you would any other book.

Add the story through Dropbox

Kobo supports non-protected EPUB and PDF files through Dropbox on software version 4.18 or later. This option is available on these models:

• Kobo Forma
• Kobo Sage
• Kobo Elipsa
• Kobo Elipsa 2E
• Kobo Libra Colour

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the EPUB in the Kobo cloud folder, and sync the device. The story will then appear on that Kobo.

Books added through Dropbox appear only on the device where they were added.

Add the story through Google Drive

Google Drive support requires Kobo software version 4.37 or later. It is available on the same Kobo models:

• Kobo Sage
• Kobo Elipsa
• Kobo Elipsa 2E
• Kobo Libra Colour

On your Kobo, go to Home, then More, then My Google Drive, and select Get Started. The device will show a code. Enter it on the Kobo website to link your account.

Put the EPUB in the Google Drive folder and sync your Kobo. The story will appear in the library on that device. Books added through Google Drive appear only on the Kobo where they were added.

Do I need a SciFiStories account?

Yes. You must sign in with an account on SciFiStories to download one of its stories through WP Downloader.

Can I download just one chapter?

No. WP Downloader downloads whole SciFiStories stories, not individual chapters or lists.

Will my EPUB update when new chapters are published?

No. WP Downloader cannot update an existing EPUB. Download the story again to get a new file containing the chapters currently available to your account.

Can every Kobo use Dropbox or Google Drive?

No. These options are available only on Kobo Forma, Kobo Sage, Kobo Elipsa, Kobo Elipsa 2E, and Kobo Libra Colour. Dropbox requires software version 4.18 or later. Google Drive requires version 4.37 or later.
