How to Read TONFA Stories on Kobo

To read a story from TONFA: The Original Naruto Fanfic Archive on your Kobo, download the complete story as an EPUB with WP Downloader and transfer the file to your e-reader. Kobo opens EPUB files without conversion.

Download the TONFA story as an EPUB

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. Its support for TONFA at narutofic.org was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.

Find the story on TONFA and copy its story-page URL. It should look like this:

Then:

1. Open the TONFA downloader.
2. Paste the story URL into the box.
3. Choose EPUB as the output format.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the EPUB.

EPUB is free for everyone. WP Downloader can also create a PDF after you sign in with Discord for free, but EPUB is the simplest choice for a Kobo because the device opens it natively.

For TONFA, WP Downloader downloads complete stories. It does not download individual chapters or story lists. If the author publishes more chapters, download the story again to make a new EPUB. WP Downloader cannot update the file already on your Kobo.

You do not need to sign in for public stories. Signing in with your TONFA account is optional and lets WP Downloader retrieve members-only stories that your account can read. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass paywalls, locked content, age restrictions, or other account restrictions.

Put the EPUB on your Kobo with USB

A USB cable works with Kobo e-readers and provides a direct way to transfer the EPUB.

1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive on the computer.
3. Open the Kobo drive.
4. Copy the EPUB from WP Downloader onto the Kobo.
5. Eject the Kobo before disconnecting the cable.
6. Open your Kobo library and select the story.

The book will appear in the Kobo library. Once it is on the device, you can read it without visiting TONFA or staying connected to the internet.

Add the story through Dropbox

The following Kobo models can import non-protected EPUB and PDF files from Dropbox when running software version 4.18 or later:

• Kobo Forma
• Kobo Sage
• Kobo Elipsa
• Kobo Elipsa 2E
• Kobo Libra Colour

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, place the downloaded EPUB in the cloud folder, and sync your Kobo. The story will appear in the library on that device.

Books imported this way appear only on the Kobo where you added them. They are not automatically added to your other devices.

Add the story through Google Drive

Google Drive transfers require Kobo software version 4.37 or later. They work on these models:

• Kobo Forma
• Kobo Sage
• Kobo Elipsa
• Kobo Elipsa 2E
• Kobo Libra Colour

On your Kobo, go to Home, then More, then My Google Drive, and select Get Started. The e-reader will show a code. Enter it on the Kobo website to link your Google Drive account.

Place the EPUB from WP Downloader in the Google Drive folder and sync your e-reader. The imported story will appear only on that Kobo device.

Download the story again after an update

The EPUB contains the TONFA story as it appeared when you downloaded it. WP Downloader cannot add newly published chapters to an existing file.

When the story is updated, paste its URL into WP Downloader and download a new EPUB. Transfer the new file with USB, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
