How to Read Wattpad Stories on a Kobo

Kobo e-readers can open EPUB files, so you can read a Wattpad story on your Kobo by downloading it as an EPUB and transferring the file. USB works with Kobo e-readers, while some models also support Dropbox and Google Drive.

Download the Wattpad story as an EPUB

WP Downloader is a free web tool that downloads Wattpad stories as EPUB files. There is nothing to install.

Open the Wattpad story and copy its link.
Go to WP Downloader.
Paste the link into the box. WP Downloader will detect that it is from Wattpad.
Choose EPUB as the output format.
Choose whether to include the story’s images.

Public stories do not require a Wattpad account. If you sign in with your Wattpad account, you can download paid stories that your account owns, as well as stories from your library or archive. WP Downloader only retrieves content your account can already read. It cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Transfer the EPUB with a USB cable

Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive.
Open the Kobo drive.
Copy the downloaded EPUB onto it.
Eject the Kobo safely.
Disconnect the cable.

The story will appear in your Kobo library, where you can open it like any other book.

If the author adds more chapters later, the EPUB on your Kobo will not update. Download the story again with WP Downloader, then transfer the new file.

Add the story through Dropbox

The following Kobo models can import non-protected EPUB and PDF files from Dropbox when running software version 4.18 or later:

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the downloaded EPUB in the Kobo Dropbox folder, and sync your Kobo. The story will appear in its library.

A book imported through Dropbox appears only on the Kobo where you added it.

Add the story through Google Drive

Google Drive imports require software version 4.37 or later and are available on the same Kobo models:

From the Kobo home screen, go to More, select My Google Drive, and choose Get Started. The Kobo will show a code. Enter that code on the Kobo website to link your account.

Put the EPUB in the connected Google Drive folder, then sync your Kobo. The story will appear in its library when the transfer is complete.

A book imported through Google Drive appears only on the Kobo where you added it.

Use EPUB instead of PDF

WP Downloader provides EPUB files free to everyone. It can also create PDFs after a free Discord sign-in, but EPUB is the simpler choice because Kobo e-readers open it natively.

Will the EPUB update when the Wattpad story gets new chapters?
