How to read a Whofic story on a Kobo e-reader

To read a story from A Teaspoon And An Open Mind, also known as Whofic, on a Kobo e-reader, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your device. Kobo opens EPUB files natively, so the story does not need to be converted first.

Download the Whofic story as an EPUB

Add the EPUB to your Kobo with USB

Use a USB connection when the EPUB is saved on a computer.

1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to the computer with a USB cable.
2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive on the computer.
3. Open the Kobo drive.
4. Copy the downloaded EPUB file onto the device.
5. Eject the Kobo safely.
6. Disconnect the cable.

The story will appear in your Kobo library. You can open it like any other book and read it without an internet connection.

If the story gains new chapters, download it again and transfer the new EPUB to your Kobo. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you previously created.

Add the story through Dropbox

The following Kobo models can import non-protected EPUB and PDF files from Dropbox with Kobo software version 4.18 or later:

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the downloaded EPUB in the connected cloud folder, and sync your Kobo. The story will appear on that device.

Add the story through Google Drive

Google Drive requires Kobo software version 4.37 or later and works on the same models:

To connect Google Drive:

1. Open the Home screen on your Kobo.
2. Select More.
3. Select My Google Drive.
4. Select Get Started.
5. Enter the displayed code on the Kobo website to link your account.
6. Put the EPUB in the connected Google Drive folder.
7. Sync your e-reader and import the story.

Books imported through Google Drive appear only on the Kobo where you added them.

Which transfer method should you use?

Use USB if the EPUB is on a computer or your Kobo does not support cloud imports. This method copies the file directly to the e-reader.

Dropbox and Google Drive are useful if you already keep the EPUB in the cloud, but they work only with the Kobo models and software versions listed above.
