How to Track FanFiktion.de Stories on Goodreads or The StoryGraph

To track a FanFiktion.de story on Goodreads or The StoryGraph, download the story and save its title and author. Many fanfiction stories are missing from both services, so you may need to add the work to Goodreads or keep your own reading list in calibre.

Download the FanFiktion.de story

Save the story details

Before leaving the story page, note the title and author. These are the minimum details required to add a missing work to Goodreads.

Keep the EPUB somewhere easy to find. You can read it on your device and organize it in a personal library even if Goodreads or The StoryGraph does not list the story.

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB. When the author publishes more chapters, download the complete story again and replace the older file or keep both versions.

Track the story on Goodreads

Search Goodreads for the story’s title and author. Most fanfiction and web serials are not in the Goodreads database, so you may not find a matching entry.

If the story is missing, open this address in a web browser:

Goodreads accounts with a verified email can add a book by hand, though the option is unavailable to brand-new accounts. Enter at least the story’s title and author, then submit the entry. You can use the resulting Goodreads record to track your reading.

Check the search results carefully before creating a record. An existing entry may use a slightly different title or author spelling. Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate records.

This process does not upload the EPUB. Keep the file in your reading app or on your device, and use Goodreads separately to record the story.

Track the story on The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph for the title and author. The story may already be listed, but its database may not contain it.

The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If the story is missing, check The StoryGraph’s help pages for current guidance.

You can keep the EPUB on your phone, computer, or e-reader while tracking it separately. If you cannot add the story to The StoryGraph, you can organize it in a private calibre library instead.

Keep a private reading list in calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It lets you organize FanFiktion.de stories without using a public book database.

After downloading the EPUB:

1. Open calibre and select Add books.
2. Choose the FanFiktion.de EPUB.
3. Edit its metadata or cover if needed.
4. Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or keep it in your library.
