Track Ficbook Stories on Goodreads or The StoryGraph

Save the Ficbook story as an EPUB before adding it to your reading list. This gives you a copy for offline reading and helps you keep the title and author organized when the story is missing from Goodreads or The StoryGraph.

Download a Ficbook story with WP Downloader

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. It supports complete Ficbook stories with links that usually look like this:

Add the story to your reading device or app

Save the EPUB somewhere easy to find, then open it in an EPUB-compatible reading app or add it to calibre.

For a dedicated e-reader:

A recognizable filename, title, and author will make it easier to match the EPUB with its Goodreads or The StoryGraph entry.

Track a Ficbook story on Goodreads

Most fanfiction and web serials are not in the Goodreads database. Search by the Ficbook story’s title and author. If you find the correct entry, use it for your reading record.

If the story is missing, eligible Goodreads accounts can add a book manually at goodreads.com/book/new. The account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. You need at least the story’s title and author.

Copy these details from the Ficbook story page. Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate records.

The Goodreads record and downloaded EPUB remain separate. Adding the story to Goodreads does not upload the file, and downloading it through WP Downloader does not create or update a Goodreads entry.

Check The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph using the story’s title and author. Its database may not include the Ficbook story.

The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If the story is missing, check its current help pages for guidance.

You can keep the EPUB on your phone, computer, or e-reader regardless of whether you find a public listing. calibre is another option if you want a personal catalog.

Keep a private reading list in calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can use it to organize Ficbook EPUB files that are missing from public reading databases.

To add a story:

1. Download it from WP Downloader as an EPUB.
2. Open calibre and select Add books.
3. Choose the downloaded EPUB.
4. Edit its metadata or cover if needed.
5. Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.

The calibre viewer has a Read aloud feature. calibre can also convert EPUB files to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader itself does not produce AZW3 or MOBI files.

When the Ficbook story gets new chapters, download it again and add the new file to calibre. Check the metadata so you can tell the newer copy from the earlier one.
