Track Imagine: The List stories on Goodreads or StoryGraph

To keep track of an Imagine: The List story, download it as an EPUB and record it on Goodreads, look for it on The StoryGraph, or add it to your own calibre library. Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from public book databases, so calibre is a useful option when you cannot find a listing.

Download the story with WP Downloader

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. Open the Imagine: The List downloader and copy the address of the story you want to save. Its URL should look like this:

https://imagine.e-fic.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234

Paste the link into WP Downloader. It will recognize Imagine: The List and prepare the whole story for download.

EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.

WP Downloader saves whole stories from Imagine: The List, not individual chapters or story lists. If the author publishes more chapters, download the story again. The tool cannot update an EPUB you already have.

Public stories do not require an Imagine: The List account. You can sign in with an account from the site to reach members-only stories that account can read. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Support for Imagine: The List was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader released under the Apache-2.0 license.

See the Imagine: The List download guide for the full process.

Add the story to Goodreads

Most fanfiction and web serials are not in the Goodreads database. Search by title and author first in case another reader has already added the story.

If you find the correct entry, add it to your chosen shelf and use it to record your reading.

When a story is missing, eligible Goodreads accounts can add it manually at goodreads.com/book/new. The account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. The title and author are the minimum required details.

Copy those details from the original Imagine: The List story page. Search carefully before adding a new entry because Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicates.

Check The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph for the story’s title and author. If it has an entry, add it to your reading list and set its reading status.

The story may be missing from The StoryGraph’s database. The service does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books, so check its current help pages instead of relying on unofficial directions. If you cannot find a suitable entry, you can keep the EPUB and its details together in calibre.

Keep a personal list in calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can hold stories that are missing from Goodreads or The StoryGraph.

After downloading the EPUB, open calibre and choose Add books. Select the file to add it to your library. You can edit its metadata and cover to make the title and author easy to recognize.

With calibre, you can:

  • Organize downloaded stories in one library
  • Read EPUB files in the e-book viewer
  • Use the viewer’s Read aloud feature
  • Send books to a connected e-reader over USB
  • Convert EPUB files to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. If you need another format, download the EPUB and convert it with calibre.

Move the story to your reading device

Import the EPUB into your usual reading app or transfer it to your e-reader.

For an Amazon device, follow the Imagine: The List Kindle guide. For a Kobo reader, use the Imagine: The List Kobo guide.

Goodreads and The StoryGraph work when the story has a suitable listing. calibre gives you a private library that does not depend on a public book database.
