How to Add Inkitt Stories to Your calibre Library
To add an Inkitt story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file with calibre’s Add books button. You can then organize the story, convert it to another format, read it on your computer, or transfer it to a connected e-reader.
Download the Inkitt story as an EPUB

- Find the story on inkitt.com and copy its address. An Inkitt story URL looks like this:

Sign in with your Inkitt email address and password. Inkitt downloads require an Inkitt account. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested.

Download the finished EPUB to your computer.
WP Downloader can retrieve only the content your Inkitt account is allowed to read. It does not bypass locked chapters, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Add the EPUB to your calibre library
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Once the EPUB and calibre are on your computer:
- Open calibre.
- Select Add books.
- Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Wait for the story to appear in your library.
You can select the book and open it in calibre’s e-book viewer. This lets you check the story and any included images before transferring the book to another device.
Organize the story’s details and cover
calibre lets you edit a book’s metadata and cover after you add it to your library. Review the title, author information, and cover, then change them if you want your stories to follow a consistent naming or organization style.
This is useful if your calibre library contains stories from several fiction sites. Make these changes through calibre’s metadata editor. Renaming the downloaded file alone does not change the book information shown in your calibre library.
Convert the story for another reading device
WP Downloader creates EPUB files for everyone and PDF files after a free Discord sign-in. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
If you need another supported e-book format, calibre can convert the imported EPUB. For example, you can convert it to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. Select the story in your library, open calibre’s conversion feature, and choose the format you need.
Keeping the original EPUB in your library gives you a source file for later conversions.

Send the book over USB
calibre can send books to an e-reader connected by USB. Connect the device to your computer, select the Inkitt story in calibre, and use the option to send the book to the device.
If the device needs a format other than EPUB, convert the story before transferring it. You can then open the book through the device’s usual library or reading app.
Read or listen on your computer
You can read the EPUB without a separate e-reader. Open it from your calibre library to read it in the included e-book viewer on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
The viewer also has a Read aloud feature. Open the story in the viewer and start Read aloud to listen on your computer.
Manage new chapters
WP Downloader cannot add newly published chapters to an existing EPUB. When an Inkitt story changes, download the complete story again from the Inkitt downloader and add the new EPUB to calibre.
Check which copy is current before you continue reading or transfer the story to another device. Consistent metadata can help you tell the copies apart in your library.
