How to Send Inkitt Stories to Kindle

Inkitt is built around its website and app, but a Kindle is far easier on the eyes for a long read. You can put any Inkitt story you can read onto your Kindle in two steps: download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader, then send it to your Kindle through Amazon.

What you need

• The URL of the Inkitt story
• Your Inkitt email and password (Inkitt only shows stories to signed-in readers)
• A Kindle e-reader, or the Kindle app on your phone or tablet, and your Amazon account

Step 1: Download the story as EPUB

1. Copy the story’s URL from Inkitt, e.g. https://www.inkitt.com/stories/202117.
2. Open the Inkitt Downloader and paste it.
3. Enter your Inkitt email and password. They’re used only to fetch this story.
4. Leave EPUB selected and click Download.

Kindles don’t open EPUB files directly, but Amazon converts them automatically when you send them, so EPUB is the format to use. See How to Download an Inkitt Story for the full walkthrough.

Step 2: Send the EPUB to your Kindle

Option A - Send to Kindle on the web

1. Go to Amazon’s Send to Kindle page and sign in.
2. Drag the EPUB onto the page and click Send.

Option B - Email

1. Find your Kindle’s email address: Amazon → Manage Your Content and Devices → Preferences → Personal Document Settings. It ends in @kindle.com.
2. Add the address you’ll send from to the Approved Personal Document E-mail List on the same page.
3. Email the EPUB as an attachment to your Kindle address.

Option C - Send to Kindle app Install Amazon’s Send to Kindle app on Windows or Mac, drag the EPUB onto it, pick your device and send.

Within a few minutes the story appears in your Kindle library with its cover, title and author, and a table of contents for every chapter.

Tips

• Series and sequels: many Inkitt stories continue in a second book with its own URL. Download and send each one; they’ll sit side by side in your library.
• Updated stories: if the author adds chapters, download the story again and send the new file.
• Images: turn on Include Images before downloading if you want the story’s images on your Kindle too.

Troubleshooting

The email never arrives - add your sending address to the Approved Personal Document E-mail List and send again.

The download asks for a login again - check your Inkitt email and password by signing in on inkitt.com; the downloader can’t fetch stories your account can’t open.

The book doesn’t appear - make sure your Kindle is online, then sync it from the settings menu.
