How to Add StoryRoom Stories to calibre
Download the StoryRoom story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, then import it into calibre with Add books. From there, you can organize the book, convert it to another format, read it on your computer, or transfer it to a connected e-reader.
What you need
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install. To follow this guide, you need:
- The story link
- An account for StoryRoom or Fine Stories
- calibre on a Windows, macOS, or Linux computer
A StoryRoom story link looks like this:

Download the StoryRoom story as an EPUB
Go to the StoryRoom downloader.
- Copy the StoryRoom story URL from your browser.
- Paste it into the downloader box.
- Sign in with your account for that site.
- Choose EPUB.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the EPUB.
WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only what your account is allowed to read and does not bypass locked chapters, paywalls, or age restrictions.
EPUB downloads are free for everyone and can be added directly to calibre. WP Downloader can also create a PDF, but that option requires a free Discord sign-in.

Add the EPUB to your calibre library
Open calibre and select Add books. Find the EPUB you downloaded, select it, and add it to your library.
The story will appear with your other calibre books. Select it to view its details, open it, convert it, or send it to a connected device.
If the EPUB is on your phone, move it to the computer where calibre is installed before adding it.
Edit the metadata and cover
Select the story and open calibre’s metadata editor. You can change its metadata and cover to make it easier to identify in your library.
You may also want to use the same style for author names and story titles across your StoryRoom books.
Read the story in calibre
calibre includes an e-book viewer, so you can read the EPUB on your computer without transferring it to another device.
The viewer also has a Read aloud feature for listening to the story.
Convert the EPUB for another device
WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. To use another e-book format, add the EPUB to calibre and convert it there.
calibre can convert:
- EPUB to AZW3
- EPUB to MOBI
- EPUB to PDF
Choose a format supported by your reading device or app. You can keep the original EPUB in your calibre library alongside the converted file.

Send the story to an e-reader over USB
Connect your e-reader to the computer by USB. In calibre, select the StoryRoom book and use the device transfer option to send it to the reader.
If the device needs a different format, convert the EPUB in calibre before transferring it.
Replace a story when new chapters are added
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. To get the newer version, download the complete story again and add the new file to calibre.
Check that you are opening or transferring the latest download. You can keep or remove the older copy from your calibre library.
