Do Dreame stories count toward Apple Books Reading Goals?

Download a Dreame story with WP Downloader

WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install. It downloads whole Dreame stories as EPUB or PDF files that you can open in Apple Books.

1. Open the Dreame story downloader.

2. Copy the story address from dreame.com. A Dreame story link looks like this:

Add the story to Apple Books on iPhone or iPad

Once the download finishes:

1. Open the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
2. Find the downloaded EPUB or PDF.
3. Open the Share menu.
4. Choose Books.

The story will appear in your Apple Books Library. If Books is not visible at first, look through the other sharing options.

Add the story to Apple Books on Mac

Open the Books app and drag the EPUB into it. You can also choose File, then Add to Library, and select the EPUB.

The imported story will appear in your Library, where you can open and read it like any other book.

How Apple Books Reading Goals work

Apple Books tracks how many minutes you read each day and how many books and audiobooks you finish each year.

The daily goal is five minutes by default. You can change it from the Reading Now tab on an iPhone or iPad, or from Home on a Mac.

Adding a book to your Library does not show whether its reading time will count. You need to open the imported story and test it.

Check whether an imported EPUB counts

Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time. Check the result on your device:

1. Note today’s reading time in Apple Books.
2. Open the imported Dreame EPUB.
3. Read for a minute or two.
4. Return to your Reading Goal.
5. See whether today’s reading time has increased.

If the total increases, Apple Books is counting the reading activity on your device. If it does not, you can still read the story in Apple Books, but it may not advance your daily goal.

Make a downloaded PDF count toward your goal

PDFs count toward the Apple Books reading goal only when Include PDFs is enabled.

On current versions of iOS, open Settings, then Apps, then Books, and turn on Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings, then Books.

After turning on the setting, open the imported Dreame PDF in Apple Books. Read for a minute or two, then check your daily total.
