How to download JoyRead stories as EPUB or PDF

Copy the story page URL and paste it into JoyRead Downloader to download the story as an EPUB or PDF. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything. It downloads the whole story, not individual chapters or lists.

How to download a JoyRead story

1. Open the story on joyread.com.
2. Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.
3. Go to JoyRead Downloader.
4. Paste the story URL into the download box.
5. Sign in to your JoyRead account if the story is members-only or has chapters your account can read.
6. Choose EPUB or PDF, then choose whether to include the story’s images.
7. Download the file to your device.

EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.

WP Downloader uses your JoyRead credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only the content your account is allowed to read. It does not bypass paid or locked chapters.

Which JoyRead URL should you paste?

Paste the URL for the story’s main page. A JoyRead story link looks like this:

WP Downloader recognizes links from joyread.com and its subdomains. Use the full story URL instead of a link to an individual chapter.

JoyRead downloads contain the whole available story. If you want only part of a story, you still need to download it as one book.

Do you need to sign in?

Sign-in is optional for public stories. For a members-only story, signing in lets WP Downloader fetch the content your JoyRead account can read.

Signing in does not unlock additional content. WP Downloader includes paid or locked chapters only when your account can already open them on JoyRead.

The Discord sign-in for PDF is separate from your JoyRead sign-in. Your JoyRead account determines which story content WP Downloader can fetch. Discord sign-in gives you access to PDF output.

Should you choose EPUB or PDF?

Choose the format that works with the app or device where you plan to read.

Choose EPUB for reading apps

EPUB is free for everyone. After downloading the file, open or import it in an app that supports EPUB.

Choose PDF for a PDF reader

PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. Choose it if you want to open the story in an app or on a device that supports PDF files.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Open the story on your device or in an app

After the download finishes, find the EPUB or PDF on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Open an EPUB in an app that supports EPUB files. Some apps require you to import the file first.

Open a PDF with a PDF reader. To read on another device, move or send the file to that device and open it in a compatible app.

Getting newly published chapters

WP Downloader cannot update a file you downloaded earlier. When a story gets new chapters, paste its JoyRead link into the downloader again and create a new file.

The new file will contain the story content available to your account at the time of the download. You can then replace the older copy in your reading app.
