How to Read JoyRead Stories on a Kobo

To read a JoyRead story on a Kobo, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your e-reader. Kobo opens EPUB files directly, so you do not need to convert the book.

Download the JoyRead story as an EPUB

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. All you need is the link to the JoyRead story.

A JoyRead story URL looks like this:

To download the story:

1. Open the JoyRead Downloader.
2. Paste the full JoyRead story link into the box.
3. Sign in with your JoyRead account if you need access to a members-only story.
4. Select EPUB as the output format.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the EPUB.

WP Downloader downloads whole JoyRead stories, not individual chapters or lists. If the story gains new chapters, download it again to create a new EPUB. The tool cannot update a file you already downloaded.

Signing in only gives WP Downloader access to content your JoyRead account can already read. Paid or locked chapters are omitted unless your account has access to them.

Copy the EPUB to your Kobo with USB

A computer and USB cable work with any Kobo that supports EPUB files.

1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive.
3. Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Copy the EPUB onto the Kobo drive.
5. Eject the Kobo before unplugging it.
6. Open your Kobo library and select the book.

The story will appear in your library after the Kobo processes the file. Since the book is stored on the device, you can read it offline.

Add the story through Dropbox

Dropbox can transfer non-protected EPUB and PDF files to these Kobo models with software version 4.18 or later:

• Kobo Elipsa
• Kobo Elipsa 2E
• Kobo Libra Colour

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the EPUB in the cloud folder, and sync your Kobo. The story will then appear on that device.

A book added through Dropbox appears only on the Kobo where you added it. Use a USB cable if your model does not support Dropbox.

Add the story through Google Drive

Google Drive works on the same Kobo models with software version 4.37 or later:

• Kobo Elipsa 2E
• Kobo Libra Colour

On your Kobo, go to Home, then More, then My Google Drive, and select Get Started. The e-reader will show a code. Enter it on the Kobo website to connect your Google Drive account.

Put the EPUB in the cloud folder, then sync your Kobo. The book will appear only on the device where you added it.

Choose EPUB for your Kobo

EPUB is free for everyone through WP Downloader, and Kobo e-readers open it directly.

Can Kobo open a JoyRead story directly?

Kobo opens EPUB files directly. Use WP Downloader to turn the JoyRead story into an EPUB, then transfer the file to your e-reader.

Do I need to sign in to JoyRead?

Signing in is optional. It lets WP Downloader reach members-only stories that your account can read, but it does not bypass paid or locked chapters.

Can I transfer the EPUB without a computer?
