How to Print a FictionAlley Archive Story as a PDF

To print a FictionAlley Archive story, download it as a PDF with WP Downloader and open the file in a PDF app. The fixed page layout of a PDF works well for printing.

Download the FictionAlley story as a PDF

WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install. You do not need a FictionAlley Archive account, but PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in.

  1. Find the story on fictionalley-archive.org or fictionalley.org.
  2. Copy the story’s main URL. It should look similar to this:
https://www.fictionalley-archive.org/authors/drt/DA.html
  1. Open the FictionAlley story downloader.
  2. Paste the URL into the download box. WP Downloader will recognize it as a FictionAlley Archive link.
  3. Choose PDF and sign in with Discord when prompted.
  4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
  5. Download the PDF to your device.

WP Downloader downloads the complete story from FictionAlley Archive. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories from this site. For a longer walkthrough, see how to download FictionAlley stories.

FictionAlley Archive support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader licensed under Apache-2.0.

Check the PDF before printing

Open the PDF and check a few pages before printing. Make sure the story text is present and that any images you included appear correctly.

Check the page count as well. Long stories can use a lot of paper and ink. If you want to print the story in sections, look for a page-range setting in your PDF app’s print window.

Print from a computer

  1. Open the PDF in a PDF reader or browser.
  2. Select the print command.
  3. Choose your printer.
  4. Review the page range, number of copies, paper size, orientation, and color settings.
  5. Check the print preview.
  6. Start the print job.

The names and locations of these controls vary by computer and PDF app. If the preview looks wrong, cancel the job and adjust the available settings before printing.

Print from a phone or tablet

  1. Find the PDF in your files or downloads.
  2. Open it in a PDF app.
  3. Open the sharing or options menu.
  4. Choose Print.
  5. Select the printer and review the settings.
  6. Confirm the print job.

If your device cannot find the printer or does not offer a print option, move the PDF to a computer and print it there. You do not need to convert the file.

Use a print shop

If you do not have a suitable printer, save the PDF somewhere you can access when placing the order. Ask the print shop to print it as a document, then review the available paper, color, and finishing options.

Print FictionAlley Archive stories only for your own personal use. Do not sell or distribute printed copies.
