How to print a Lumos story from a PDF
To print a Lumos story for personal reading, download it as a PDF with WP Downloader and open the file on your phone or computer. PDF keeps a fixed page layout, which makes it suitable for printing.
Download the Lumos story as a PDF
WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. It can download complete English-language stories from Lumos at lumos.sycophanthex.com. You do not need a Lumos account.
Find the story you want on Lumos. Its link should look similar to this:
http://lumos.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234 Copy the complete story URL, then follow these steps:
- Open the Lumos downloader.
- Paste the story link into the box.
- Wait for WP Downloader to detect the site and retrieve the story.
- Select PDF as the output format.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Sign in with Discord when prompted. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in.
- Download the finished PDF to your device.
WP Downloader downloads complete stories from Lumos. It does not download individual chapters or story lists from this site. For a general walkthrough, see how to download Lumos stories.
Find and check the downloaded PDF
Open the PDF before printing and check that it downloaded correctly. On a phone or tablet, you can usually find it in your browser’s downloads or the device’s file app. On a computer, check the folder where your browser saves downloads.
Open the file in a PDF reader and look through a few pages to make sure the text is readable. If you included the story’s images, check that they appear as expected.
Checking the file first can save paper, especially when printing a long story or sending it to a print shop. It also gives you a chance to spot an incomplete download or change an unwanted print setting.
Print from a computer
Menu names vary between computers and PDF apps, but the process is generally the same:
- Open the downloaded Lumos PDF.
- Choose “Print” from the app’s menu.
- Select your printer.
- Review the page preview.
- Choose the pages and number of copies you want.
- Set the paper size, orientation, color, and two-sided printing options available for your printer.
- Start printing.
Check the preview before starting the print job. The PDF keeps its page layout fixed, while your printer settings control how those pages are placed on the paper.
To print only part of the story, select a page range in the print window.
Print from a phone or tablet
You can print from a phone or tablet if the device can connect to your printer.
- Find the downloaded PDF in your files or downloads.
- Open it in a PDF reader.
- Open the app’s share or action menu.
- Select “Print.”
- Choose the printer and review the available settings.
- Check the preview, then confirm the print job.
If the app has no print option, move the PDF to a computer or open it in another PDF reader that supports printing. You can also take the file to a print shop.
Use a print shop
A print shop can print the downloaded PDF for you. Save the file somewhere you can access when placing the order or visiting the shop. Tell the shop which pages you want and choose from its available paper and finishing options.
The printed copy is for your personal use only. Do not sell it, distribute copies, or use the PDF to share the story with other people.
