How to read an Ashwinder story on Android
To read an Ashwinder story on an Android phone or tablet, download it as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader and open the file in a reading app. You can then keep the story on your device for offline reading.
Download the Ashwinder story
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install.
- Find the story on ashwinder.sycophanthex.com.
- Copy its story URL. It should look like this:
https://ashwinder.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234- Open the Ashwinder downloader.
- Paste the story URL into the box.
- Choose EPUB or PDF.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the file to your Android device.
EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
Signing in to Ashwinder is optional. If a story is available only to members, you can sign in with your Ashwinder account so WP Downloader can access content that the account is allowed to read. Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested. WP Downloader does not bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.
For Ashwinder, WP Downloader downloads the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories. If the author adds more chapters, download the story again to get an updated EPUB or PDF. WP Downloader does not update an existing EPUB.
Ashwinder support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.
Read the EPUB on Android
EPUB works with several Android reading apps. Once you have downloaded the file, open it in an app that supports EPUB.
Use Google Play Books
Google Play Books accepts your own DRM-free EPUB and PDF files. After uploading a book, you can read it on Android, iPhone or iPad, and the web.
On your Android phone or tablet:
- Download the Ashwinder story from WP Downloader.
- Upload the EPUB or PDF with the Google Play Books Android app.
- Open the uploaded book in Google Play Books.
You can also use the Play Books website to upload a file from your computer or Google Drive, then open the book on your Android device. Very large files may reach Google’s upload size limit.
Use Moon+ Reader
Moon+ Reader for Android opens EPUB files. Download the EPUB from WP Downloader, then open it in Moon+ Reader on your phone or tablet.
The app also has a built-in text-to-speech mode if you want to listen to the story.
Listen to an Ashwinder story on Android
Android offers a few ways to read the downloaded story aloud.
Use Android Select to Speak
Turn on Select to Speak in Settings under Accessibility. You can then tap items on the screen to hear them read aloud.
Use Moon+ Reader
Open the downloaded EPUB in Moon+ Reader and start its built-in text-to-speech mode.
Use @Voice Aloud Reader
@Voice Aloud Reader for Android can open an EPUB and read it aloud.
All of these options use the text-to-speech voices installed on your device. How natural the narration sounds depends on the voices available.
Tips for reading on Android
Choose EPUB if you plan to use an ebook app such as Google Play Books or Moon+ Reader. PDF is also available if you already have an app that opens it.
If a members-only story will not download, sign in to Ashwinder through WP Downloader and try again. Your Ashwinder account must already have permission to read the story.
