Read a Chireads Story in Google Play Books
To read a Chireads story in Google Play Books, download it as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader and upload the file to your Play Books library. You can then read it on the Play Books website or in the Android, iPhone, and iPad apps.
Download a Chireads story with WP Downloader
WP Downloader is a free web tool that does not require installation. Chireads stories are in French, and you do not need a Chireads account to download them.
Find the story on chireads.com. Its URL should look like this:
https://chireads.com/category/translatedtales/story-name Copy the full URL and open the Chireads downloader. You can also paste the URL into the box on the WP Downloader home page, which will detect that the story comes from Chireads.
Choose a file format:
- EPUB is free for everyone and works well in ebook apps.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
You can choose whether to include the story’s images. Start the download, then save the file somewhere you can find it.
For Chireads, WP Downloader downloads whole stories only. It cannot download a single chapter or a list, and it does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. See How to Download Chireads Stories for more help with the download.
If the author adds chapters later, download the story again. WP Downloader does not update an existing EPUB.
Upload the story to Google Play Books
Google Play Books accepts personal DRM-free EPUB and PDF files, including files created by WP Downloader.
Upload from a computer
Open the Google Play Books website and sign in to your Google account. Use the upload option to select the EPUB or PDF from your computer or Google Drive.
Very large stories may reach Google’s upload size limit. If that happens, downloading the story again without its images may give you a smaller file to upload.
Upload from an Android device
Download the Chireads story to your phone or tablet with WP Downloader. Open the Google Play Books app and use its upload option to add the EPUB or PDF.
Read on an iPhone or iPad
First upload the story through the Google Play Books website on a computer. Then open the Google Play Books app on your iPhone or iPad and sign in to the same Google account.
Open the story on your preferred device
Select the uploaded story from your Play Books library. You can read it in a web browser, on Android, or in the Google Play Books app on an iPhone or iPad.
If you would rather use another ereader, see the guides to sending Chireads stories to Kindle or reading Chireads stories on Kobo.
