Read Chireads Stories in KOReader
Download the Chireads story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, copy the file to your Kobo, PocketBook, Android device, or jailbroken Kindle, and open it from KOReader’s file browser.

- A link to the Chireads story
- WP Downloader, a free web tool that requires no installation
- A device running KOReader
KOReader is a free, open-source document reader for Kobo, PocketBook, and Android devices. It also runs on Kindles that have been jailbroken. The reader supports EPUB and PDF files.
This guide uses EPUB because WP Downloader provides that format free to everyone.
Download the Chireads story as an EPUB
Go to the Chireads downloader and paste the story link into the box. Chireads story URLs look like this:
https://chireads.com/category/translatedtales/story-nameWP Downloader detects Chireads from the link. The stories are in French, and you do not need to sign in.
Select EPUB as the output format and choose whether to include the story’s images. WP Downloader downloads the whole story from Chireads. It cannot download a single chapter or a story list from the site.
You can also choose PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. KOReader supports both formats.

Copy the EPUB to your device
After the download finishes, find the EPUB on your phone or computer. How you transfer it depends on your device.
Kobo or PocketBook
Connect the ereader to your computer with USB and copy the EPUB to the device as usual. Disconnect the ereader after the transfer finishes.
In KOReader, use the file browser to find the EPUB and select it to start reading.

Android phone or tablet
Move the EPUB to your Android device with your usual file-transfer method. If you downloaded it directly to the device, the file may already be there.
Find the EPUB in KOReader’s file browser and select it. You can then read the story offline.
Jailbroken Kindle
Copy the EPUB to the Kindle, open KOReader, and find the file in its file browser.

Getting newly published chapters
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When a Chireads story gets more chapters, return to the Chireads downloader and download the whole story again.
Copy the new EPUB to your device and open it in KOReader.
