How to Read FictionAlley Stories in Apple Books

To read a FictionAlley Archive story in Apple Books, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file into Books. This works on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and lets you read the story offline.

Download the FictionAlley story

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. It supports stories from fictionalley-archive.org and fictionalley.org, and FictionAlley downloads do not require an account.

1. Copy the story link

Open the story and copy its URL from your browser’s address bar. A FictionAlley Archive story link looks like this:

Copy the main story page rather than an individual chapter. For FictionAlley, WP Downloader downloads whole stories only. It does not download single chapters or story lists.

2. Paste the link into WP Downloader

Open the FictionAlley downloader, paste the story link into the box and start the download. WP Downloader will detect the site and download the whole story.

You can also paste the link into the box on the WP Downloader home page. The process is the same either way.

3. Choose EPUB

Choose EPUB for a file that opens in Apple Books. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and you can choose whether to include the story’s images.

WP Downloader can also create a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. Apple Books supports both formats, though EPUB is usually the better fit for a book library.

If the story receives new chapters, download it again. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you already saved.

Add the EPUB to Apple Books on iPhone or iPad

After the download finishes, open the EPUB from Safari’s downloads or the Files app.

1. Open Safari’s downloads or the Files app.
2. Find the FictionAlley EPUB.
3. Open the file, or press and hold it to see the available actions.
4. Tap Share.
5. Choose Books.

Apple Books will import the file into your Library. Open the Books app, go to your Library and select the story to read it.

You can drag the EPUB into Books or add it from the app’s File menu.

1. Open the Books app.
2. Find the downloaded EPUB in Finder.
3. Drag the file into Books.

The story will appear in your Library.

Use Add to Library

1. Open the Books app.
2. Open the File menu and choose Add to Library.
3. Select the downloaded EPUB.
4. Add it to Books.

When the import finishes, select the story from your Library to read it.

Keep your downloaded story current

Importing the EPUB adds the story to your Apple Books Library. If you want a newer copy of an unfinished story, return to the FictionAlley downloader and download it again.
