How to read a FictionAlley story in Google Play Books
To read a FictionAlley Archive story in Google Play Books, download it as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader and upload the file to your Play Books library. You can then read it on the web, Android, iPhone, or iPad.
Download the FictionAlley story
WP Downloader is a free web tool that downloads complete FictionAlley Archive stories. You do not need to install anything or sign in to a FictionAlley account.
Open the FictionAlley downloader. Copy the address of the story from fictionalley-archive.org or fictionalley.org, then paste it into the box.
A FictionAlley story address may look like this:
https://www.fictionalley-archive.org/authors/drt/DA.html WP Downloader detects the site and prepares the complete story. For FictionAlley, it downloads whole stories only. Individual chapters and story lists are not supported.
Choose a format:
- EPUB is free for everyone.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
- You can choose whether to include the story’s images.
Save the finished file to your device. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. Google Play Books accepts DRM-free EPUB and PDF files, so either available format will work.
See how to download FictionAlley stories for a general download guide.
Upload the story from a computer
If the EPUB or PDF is on your computer, upload it through the Google Play Books website.
- Open Google Play Books in your web browser.
- Sign in to the Google account you use for reading.
- Open the upload option in your Play Books library.
- Select the FictionAlley EPUB or PDF from your computer.
- Wait for Google Play Books to process the file.
- Open the story from your library.
You can also choose a file from Google Drive when uploading through the Play Books website.
Once the upload has finished, sign in to the Play Books app on your phone or tablet with the same Google account. The story will be available in your library.
Upload the story from Android
You can also upload a FictionAlley story through the Google Play Books Android app.
- Download the EPUB or PDF from WP Downloader to your Android device.
- Open the Google Play Books app.
- Use the upload option to select the downloaded file.
- Wait for the app to process the story.
- Open it from your Play Books library.
Use the same Google account on each device. Once the file is in that account’s library, you can also read it through Play Books on the web, iPhone, or iPad.
Read it on iPhone or iPad
After uploading the story through the Play Books website or Android app, open Google Play Books on your iPhone or iPad. Sign in with the Google account you used for the upload.
Find the FictionAlley story in your library and open it. No Apple-specific conversion is needed because Play Books supports the EPUB and PDF files available from WP Downloader.
Download a new copy if the story changes
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the archived story changes, return to the FictionAlley downloader and download the whole story again.
Upload the new file to Google Play Books in the same way. Play Books will treat it as a separate upload instead of updating the original EPUB or PDF.
