How to Read FictionAlley Stories on a reMarkable Tablet

To read a FictionAlley Archive story on a reMarkable tablet, download the complete story as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader. You can then import the file through a reMarkable app, a web browser, or a USB connection. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything.

Download the FictionAlley story

Find the story on fictionalley-archive.org or fictionalley.org and copy its story page URL. It should look similar to this:

Then:

1. Open the FictionAlley downloader.
2. Paste the story URL into the box.
3. Wait for WP Downloader to detect and process the story.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the file to your phone or computer.

EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. You do not need a FictionAlley account.

WP Downloader downloads the whole story from FictionAlley. It cannot download a single chapter or a reading list from this site. If the author adds or changes chapters, download the story again. WPD cannot update an EPUB that you already downloaded.

Choose EPUB or PDF for reMarkable

reMarkable tablets support EPUB and PDF files up to 100 MB, so both formats available from WP Downloader will work.

Choose EPUB for a standard ebook file. Choose PDF if you prefer that format and are willing to sign in to WP Downloader with Discord. If you include story images, make sure the completed file stays within reMarkable’s 100 MB limit.

After downloading the file, transfer it with the reMarkable desktop or mobile app, a web browser, or a USB cable.

Add the story with the reMarkable desktop or mobile app

You can use a reMarkable app to move the story from your phone or computer:

1. Download the FictionAlley story as an EPUB or PDF.
2. Open the reMarkable desktop or mobile app.
3. Import the downloaded file into your reMarkable library.
4. Wait for the file to transfer to your tablet.
5. Open your library on the reMarkable and select the story.

Keep the downloaded file until you have confirmed that it appears on the tablet.

Upload the story from a web browser

You can also transfer the file through a web browser:

1. Save the EPUB or PDF to your computer.
2. Open the reMarkable web service in your browser.
3. Upload the story file.
4. Check your reMarkable tablet for the imported document.
5. Open the document to start reading.

The file cannot be larger than 100 MB. If including images puts it over the limit, download the story again without them.

Transfer the story over USB

If the story is already on your computer, you can transfer it with a USB cable:

1. Connect the reMarkable tablet to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Turn on the USB web interface in the tablet’s storage settings.
3. Open a browser on the connected computer.
4. Enter 10.11.99.1 in the browser’s address bar.
5. Upload the FictionAlley EPUB or PDF.
6. Open the transferred story on the tablet.

The path to the USB web interface setting can vary between reMarkable software versions. Check the tablet’s storage settings if you do not find it where you expect.
