How to Read Inkitt Stories Offline

Inkitt stories normally need a connection and a signed-in browser or app to read. Saving a story as an EPUB or PDF file puts the whole thing on your device, so you can keep reading on a flight, on the train or anywhere the signal drops - in the reading app you like, with your own font and brightness settings.

Download the story once

Inkitt only shows stories to signed-in readers, so you’ll use your Inkitt email and password for this step. They’re used only to fetch the story you ask for.

1. Copy the story’s URL from Inkitt, e.g. https://www.inkitt.com/stories/202117.
2. Open the Inkitt Downloader and paste it.
3. Enter your Inkitt email and password.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF and click Download.

EPUB or PDF?

• EPUB - the best choice for phones, tablets and e-readers. The text reflows to fit your screen and you can change the font, size and spacing. It also keeps a chapter list so you can jump straight to any chapter.
• PDF - a fixed page layout, good for printing or reading on a laptop. PDF downloads need a free Discord sign-in.

Opening the file on your device

Android

Open the EPUB with ReadEra, Moon+ Reader or Google Play Books (Library → Upload files).

iPhone and iPad

Tap the file in the Files app and choose Books.

Kindle

Send the EPUB through Amazon’s Send to Kindle service - see How to Send Inkitt Stories to Kindle.

Kobo and other e-readers

Copy the EPUB onto the device over USB, or add it with Calibre.

Computer

Open the EPUB in Calibre or Thorium Reader, or the PDF in any PDF viewer.

Tips

• Ongoing stories: if a story is still being updated, download it again later to get the new chapters.
• Download before you travel: you need a connection (and your Inkitt login) only for the download itself, so grab the stories you want while you’re still online.
• Keep your password private: only enter your Inkitt details on the Inkitt Downloader page itself, never in an email or chat.
