How to read a Kakuyomu story on a PocketBook
To read a Kakuyomu story on a PocketBook, download the whole story as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader and transfer the file through Send-to-PocketBook or USB. WP Downloader is free to use, requires no installation, and does not require a Kakuyomu account.
Download the Kakuyomu story
Find the Kakuyomu story you want to read. Its address should look like this:
https://kakuyomu.jp/works/12341234123412341234Copy the story address, then open the Kakuyomu downloader. Paste the address into the box. WP Downloader recognizes the Kakuyomu link and downloads the whole story. It does not download individual Kakuyomu chapters or lists.
Kakuyomu stories are in Japanese. You can also choose to include the story’s images in the downloaded book.
PocketBook e-readers support both available formats:

Send the book with Send-to-PocketBook
Send-to-PocketBook lets you email the downloaded EPUB or PDF to your e-reader. Set up the service on your PocketBook before sending the first file.
Set up your PocketBook address
On your PocketBook e-reader:
- Open Settings.
- Select Accounts and synchronization.
- Open Send-to-PocketBook.
- Sign in and follow the instructions in the activation email.
- Note your personal PocketBook address, which ends in
@pbsync.com.
Email the story to your PocketBook
From your usual email account, create a message addressed to your personal @pbsync.com address. Attach the EPUB or PDF from WP Downloader and send the message.
Sync your PocketBook after sending the email. Once the file has been delivered and the reader has synced, the story should appear on the device.
If the email does not arrive, check whether your sending address is on the approved list. Send-to-PocketBook may ask you to whitelist that address.
Copy the story over USB
You can also transfer the EPUB or PDF over USB. Connect your PocketBook to your computer, copy the downloaded file to the reader, and open it on the device.
Get newer chapters
WP Downloader creates the book from the version of the story available when you download it. It cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB.
If the author publishes more chapters, paste the Kakuyomu story link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy. You can then transfer the new EPUB or PDF to your PocketBook by email or USB.

Will my EPUB update when Kakuyomu adds chapters?
No. Download the story again with WP Downloader, then transfer the new file to your PocketBook.
