How to Read Lumos Stories Offline

WP Downloader lets you save a Lumos story as an EPUB or PDF for offline reading. The web tool is free, requires no installation, and does not require a Lumos account.

Download the Lumos story

Find the story on lumos.sycophanthex.com. Its URL should look like this:

http://lumos.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234

Copy the story URL from your browser’s address bar. WP Downloader handles whole Lumos stories, so use the story page instead of an individual chapter.

Open the Lumos Downloader, paste the link into the box, and download the story. You can choose between these formats:

• EPUB is free for everyone and works with apps and e-readers that support EPUB files.
• PDF requires a free Discord sign-in and keeps a fixed page layout.

You can also choose whether to include the story’s images. Save the finished file somewhere easy to find, such as your downloads folder.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. It also cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. If the story is updated, download it again to get a new copy.

Read on a phone

Download the EPUB or PDF to your phone, then find it in your browser’s downloads list or file manager.

Open an EPUB in a reading app that supports the format. If your phone asks which app to use, select your usual e-book reader. Open a PDF in a PDF reader. Once the file is saved on your phone, you can read it without visiting Lumos.

Read on a tablet

The steps are the same on a tablet:

1. Copy the Lumos story link.
2. Paste it into WP Downloader.
3. Download the whole story as EPUB or PDF.
4. Open the saved file in a compatible reading app.

Choose EPUB for an e-book reading app or PDF for a fixed page layout. If you downloaded the file on another device, transfer it to the tablet before opening it.

Read on a Kindle

Download the story as an EPUB. WP Downloader does not provide MOBI or AZW3 files.

Read on a Kobo

Choose EPUB when downloading the story. Save the file to the device you use to transfer books, then follow How to Read Lumos Stories on Kobo.

Once the EPUB is on your Kobo, you can open it without returning to Lumos.

Read on a computer

Download the EPUB or PDF and save it in a folder you can find later. Open the EPUB in an app that supports e-books, or open the PDF in a PDF reader.

The saved copy remains available offline. If you download the story again after new chapters are published, the result is a new file rather than an update to the copy you already have.

Do I need a Lumos account?

No. You do not need to sign in to Lumos to download a story with WP Downloader.

Can I download one Lumos chapter?

No. WP Downloader downloads whole Lumos stories. It does not support individual chapters or lists for this site.

Which format should I choose?

Choose EPUB for an e-book app or compatible e-reader. Choose PDF if you prefer a fixed page layout. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in.

Can WP Downloader create a MOBI or AZW3 file?

What happens when a Lumos story gets new chapters?
