Read MuggleNet Fan Fiction Stories on a Kobo
Kobo e-readers open EPUB files directly. Use WP Downloader to save a MuggleNet Fan Fiction story as an EPUB, then copy the file to your Kobo.
Download the MuggleNet story as an EPUB
WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. Open the MuggleNet Fan Fiction downloader and keep the story page open in another tab.
A MuggleNet Fan Fiction story URL looks like this:
http://www.mugglenetfanfiction.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234 - Copy the full story URL from your browser’s address bar.
- Paste it into the box on WP Downloader.
- Select EPUB as the output format.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the completed EPUB to your phone or computer.
EPUB downloads are free for everyone. WP Downloader can also make a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. EPUB works directly on Kobo e-readers, so it is the format used in this guide.
For MuggleNet Fan Fiction, WP Downloader saves the entire story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories. If the author publishes more chapters, download the story again to make a new EPUB. The tool cannot add chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded.
You do not need to sign in for public stories. An optional MuggleNet Fan Fiction sign-in gives WP Downloader access to members-only stories that your account can read. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested and cannot bypass paywalls, locked content, age restrictions, or other account limits.
For more help with downloading the file, see How to Download MuggleNet Fan Fiction.
Put the EPUB on your Kobo with USB
USB works without a cloud account.
- Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
- Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive.
- Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Copy the EPUB to the Kobo drive.
- Eject the Kobo, then disconnect the cable.
- Open your Kobo library and select the story.
The imported story appears with the other books in your Kobo library. Once it is there, you can read it without returning to MuggleNet Fan Fiction.
Add the story through Dropbox or Google Drive
The following Kobo models can add non-protected EPUB and PDF files through Dropbox or Google Drive:
- Kobo Forma
- Kobo Sage
- Kobo Elipsa
- Kobo Elipsa 2E
- Kobo Libra Colour
Dropbox requires Kobo software version 4.18 or later. Google Drive requires version 4.37 or later.
Use Dropbox
Link your Dropbox account from the Kobo e-reader. Put the EPUB in the Kobo cloud folder, then sync the device. The story will appear on that Kobo.
Use Google Drive
On your Kobo, go to Home, then More, then My Google Drive, and select Get Started. Enter the code shown on the e-reader on the Kobo website to link your Google Drive account.
Put the EPUB in the connected cloud folder and sync the e-reader. The story should appear in your Kobo library when the sync finishes.
Books added through Dropbox or Google Drive appear only on the device where you added them. Use USB if your Kobo is not one of the supported models.
Keep the downloaded book for offline reading
Once the EPUB is on your Kobo, you can read it offline while traveling, avoiding mobile data, or reading without a reliable connection.
You may want to keep the original EPUB on your phone or computer as a backup. The file contains the version of the story available when you downloaded it. To get chapters published later, return to WP Downloader and download a new EPUB.
The EPUB will also work in another compatible reading app. See How to Read MuggleNet Stories Offline for other options. Amazon device users can follow the separate guide to send MuggleNet stories to Kindle.
WP Downloader’s support for MuggleNet Fan Fiction and its other archive sites was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.
