Download the story before your flight

Complete the download at home, at your hotel, or anywhere else with a reliable connection.

1. Find the Missing Pieces story you want on pretendercentre.com.
2. Copy its story page URL. It should look like this:

3. Open the Pretender Centre downloader.
4. Paste the story link into the box.
5. Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
6. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
7. Download the finished file to the device you will take on the flight.

Choose EPUB or PDF

Both formats work offline once you have saved the file to your device. Choose the one that suits your reading app or device.

EPUB for reading apps

EPUB works with compatible ebook readers and reading apps on phones, tablets, and computers.

It is also the format to use with Amazon’s Send to Kindle. Amazon accepts EPUB files and converts them before adding them to your Kindle library.

PDF for PDF viewers

Choose PDF if you want to use a PDF app or your device’s built-in PDF viewer. You can also send a PDF through Send to Kindle.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. Send to Kindle no longer accepts MOBI files, so EPUB is usually the more useful Kindle format.

Prepare the file on your device

Open the downloaded file before you leave and check that it is available in the app or on the device you plan to use.

Phone or tablet

Download the EPUB or PDF directly to your phone or tablet, then open it in an app that supports the format.

Use an EPUB reading app for an EPUB or a PDF viewer for a PDF. While you still have internet, open the story and check that its title and chapters are available. Once the file is on the device, you can open it without a connection.

Kindle app or Kindle e-reader

Send the book to your Kindle library before the flight. Delivery needs an internet connection.

Amazon’s Send to Kindle accepts EPUB and PDF files. You can deliver the file by email to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address, with the Send to Kindle app, or through the web. Amazon converts an EPUB and adds the book to your library, where it can appear on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app.

Once the book appears in your library, open it on your Kindle or in the Kindle app to confirm that delivery is complete.

Kobo

Download the story as an EPUB before you travel and prepare it on the Kobo device you are taking. The Pretender Centre Kobo guide has the device instructions.

Test the story in airplane mode

Check the file before your trip:

1. Confirm that the EPUB or PDF is on your travel device.
2. Open the story in your chosen reading app.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Close and reopen the story.
5. Move between a few chapters and make sure they are available.

If the story and its chapters open in airplane mode, the file is ready for the flight.

WP Downloader does not add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the story changes, download the whole story again before your next trip.
