Read a SciFiStories Story in Apple Books

Download a SciFiStories story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, then import the file into Apple Books on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The imported story will appear in your Apple Books Library for offline reading.

What you need

Before you start, make sure you have:

• A link to the SciFiStories story
• An account on scifistories.com
• Access to WP Downloader, a free web tool that requires no installation
• The Apple Books app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac

SciFiStories story links look like this:

WP Downloader downloads the whole story from SciFiStories. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories from this site.

Step 1: Download the SciFiStories story

Open the SciFiStories downloader and paste the story link into the box. You can also paste it on the WP Downloader home page, which will detect the site automatically.

Downloading from SciFiStories requires an account on that site. WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It downloads only content your account can already read and does not bypass paywalls, locked content, or age restrictions.

Select EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and works with Apple Books. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.

Apple Books can open PDF files too. WP Downloader requires a free Discord sign-in to create a PDF, so this guide uses EPUB.

Save the completed file to your device. If the story gets new chapters later, download it again to make a new EPUB. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to a file you already downloaded.

WP Downloader’s support for SciFiStories and other fiction archives was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.

Step 2: Add the EPUB to Apple Books on iPhone or iPad

Once the download finishes, open the EPUB from Safari’s downloads or the Files app.

From Safari’s downloads

1. Open Safari’s downloads.
2. Tap the downloaded EPUB.
3. Tap the Share button.
4. Choose Books.

Apple Books will import and open the file. The story will also appear in your Library.

From the Files app

1. Open the Files app.
2. Find the downloaded EPUB.
3. Open the file or tap Share.
4. Choose Books.

If you downloaded the story earlier and cannot find it in Safari, check the Files app.

Step 3: Add the EPUB to Apple Books on Mac

You can drag the EPUB into Apple Books:

1. Open the Books app.
2. Find the downloaded EPUB in Finder.
3. Drag the file into the Books app.

You can also import it from the Apple Books menu:

1. Open Books.
2. Choose File.
3. Select Add to Library.
4. Select the downloaded EPUB.

The imported story will appear in your Apple Books Library.

Find the story later

Open Apple Books and go to your Library. The imported SciFiStories story should be listed with your other books.

Keep the downloaded EPUB if you want a separate copy. Apple Books imports the story into your Library, while the original file may remain in Safari’s downloads, the Files app, or Finder.
