How to read a SquidgeWorld story on Android
To read a SquidgeWorld Archive story on an Android phone or tablet, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and open the file in an EPUB reader such as Google Play Books or Moon+ Reader. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install it.
Download the SquidgeWorld story
Find the story on squidgeworld.org. Its address should look like this:

For SquidgeWorld Archive, each download contains the whole story. Single chapters and lists are not available. You can choose from these options:
- EPUB is free for everyone and works with Android e-book reader apps.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
- The include images option adds the story’s images to the downloaded book.
EPUB is usually the simplest format for reading in an e-book app. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
You can download public stories without signing in to SquidgeWorld Archive. If your account can read a members-only story, signing in lets WP Downloader fetch it. WP Downloader only downloads stories your account can already read and does not bypass account restrictions. Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested.

Read the EPUB with Google Play Books
Google Play Books lets you upload your own DRM-free EPUB and PDF files and read them on Android, iPhone, iPad, or the web.
To add the story from your Android phone or tablet:
- Download the EPUB from WP Downloader.
- Open the Google Play Books app.
- Upload the EPUB from your Android device.
- Open the book from your Play Books library.
You can also upload the file through the Play Books website from a computer or Google Drive, then read it in the Android app.
Stories with many chapters or images may produce large files. Very large files can reach Google’s upload size limit. If that happens, use an Android reader that opens the EPUB directly from your device.
Read the EPUB with Moon+ Reader
Moon+ Reader opens EPUB files directly on Android, so the downloaded story can stay on your phone or tablet.
After downloading the story:
- Open Moon+ Reader.
- Choose the EPUB file you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Open the book and start reading.
Once the EPUB is on your device, you can continue reading without returning to SquidgeWorld.
Listen to the story on Android
Moon+ Reader has a built-in text-to-speech mode that can read an EPUB aloud.
Android also has these options:
- Select to Speak can read items on the screen. Turn it on under Settings, then Accessibility, and tap an item to hear it read.
- @Voice Aloud Reader can read EPUB files aloud.
All of these options use the text-to-speech voices installed on your device. The available voices determine how natural the narration sounds.
Download new chapters
WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you already downloaded. When the author adds chapters, paste the SquidgeWorld story link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy.
The new file will contain the version of the story available at the time of the download. Open that file in your preferred Android reader.
