How to Read StoryRoom Stories in Apple Books

To read a StoryRoom story in Apple Books, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and open the file in Books on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Once imported, the story appears in your Apple Books Library and is available for offline reading.

What you need

You will need:

• A link to the StoryRoom story
• An account on StoryRoom or finestories.com
• WP Downloader, a free tool that works in your browser
• The Apple Books app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac

WP Downloader does not require an installation. StoryRoom downloads do require you to sign in with an account on the story’s site.

WP Downloader downloads the entire story. It cannot download individual chapters or StoryRoom lists.

Step 1: Download the StoryRoom story

Open the StoryRoom downloader and follow these steps:

1. Copy the link to the story.
2. Paste it into the download box.
3. Sign in with your account on the story’s site when prompted.
4. Choose EPUB as the output format.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the finished EPUB file.

WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only the content your account is already allowed to read and cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters or age restrictions.

Step 2: Add the EPUB to Apple Books on iPhone or iPad

You can open the downloaded file from Safari or the Files app.

From Safari’s downloads

1. Open Safari’s downloads.
2. Tap the StoryRoom EPUB file.
3. Tap the Share button.
4. Choose Books.

Apple Books will import the file and add it to your Library.

From the Files app

Open the Files app and find the saved EPUB in your downloads or the folder where you placed it. Tap the file, open the Share menu and choose Books.

The story will appear in your Apple Books Library, where you can open it for offline reading.

You can import a PDF from WP Downloader the same way. Find the file in Safari or Files, open the Share menu and choose Books.

Step 3: Add the EPUB to Apple Books on Mac

Download the StoryRoom EPUB to your Mac, then add it to Books with either method below.

Drag the file into Books

1. Open the Books app.
2. Find the EPUB in Finder.
3. Drag it into the Books window.

Add the file from the menu

1. Open the Books app.
2. Choose File, then Add to Library.
3. Select the downloaded EPUB.
4. Confirm that you want to add it.

The imported story will appear in your Apple Books Library. These steps also work for PDF files.

Getting newly added chapters

WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the StoryRoom author adds chapters, return to the StoryRoom downloader and download the whole story again.

The new file will contain the version of the story your account can read at that time. Add it to Apple Books using the same steps.
